God's Gift to Us----a Floral Kaleidoscope
The other morning my cell phone rang while I was still under the warm, soft covers of my bed.
A very dear friend was on the line, asking me if I'd like to take a ride with her and another friend to a garden center in New York State.
It's about a 20 or so minute ride from where we live.
Would I ? You never saw anybody with a slightly bum knee jump out of bed as fast as I did.
To me, spontaneous excursions are part of the cream cheese frosting on the cake of life!
If the excursion involves books, dolls, flowers, miniatures, thrift store shopping or the unknown, it's even more exciting.
This one involved flowers and the unknown, since the excursion was to an unfamiliar gardening center, so two out of five. Not bad.
The name of the place was The Country Caretaker and you can read all about the enterprising family who started it all by going to their website here.
What a fabulous job they do with all the herbs and plants for sale. Wow, wow, wow.
Sure enough, the flowering plants there looked wonderfully healthy. They exploded with all different colors, shapes, and scents.
It would be impossible not to think of how lucky we are to be on this earth, in this life, when looking at flowers.
I think God is so incredibly generous and kind to give us the gift of flowers.
They are so precious, so startling in their beauty and immense variety.
A lovely pineapple mint plant came home with me but visions of other plants and saw and want are still flashing like neon signs in my head.
Above all, I am so grateful for His gift of flowers and for the fun excursion with two friends.
Today we are joining Think on These Things on Lorraine's beloved blog, With a Grateful Prayer and a Thankful Heart.
Go on over and pay a visit. You'll love seeing all the great entries.
DO YOU LIKE GOING TO GARDENING CENTERS? DO YOU HAVE ANY CLOSE TO WHERE YOU LIVE?
