(This photo was taken from inside the moving car, on the way home from Stonington, Connecticut.)
Yesterday's post on this blog marked a very special moment in my life. It was this blog's---Writing Straight From The Heart--- 100th post!
What began as a thought last September is now a reality. Shortly after seeing the movie, Jules and Julia, where there was a lot of blogging, the desire to start a blog was overwhelming. Only one problem existed: I didn't know how!
As good luck would have it, while reading the morning newspaper, there was a small article about an upcoming three-part blog workshop at a library nearby. Best of all, it was free! I immediately signed-up.
There were times during the workshops that I felt like crying because I didn't understand some of the computer jargon. There is no techie mastermind living in this body. But the desire---yearning----to write again outweighed my reluctance to run away from the computer. The reference librarian giving the workshops was terrific. He was kind, extremely knowledgeable, and, best of all, patient.
On the October day that I actually wrote the first post, my heart was pounding. This was exciting! This was a dream-come-true! This was absolutely awesome!
(Here's the sunset through the side view mirror)
And so, here we are, 100 posts later. Up until now, I've been able to post on a daily basis. It's so joyful to me. For quite awhile, most of the photos on the blog came form FreeFoto.com and I was very grateful to have them. However, at Christmas, my husband bought me a digital camera, knowing I love to take pictures, and now, most of the photos on the blog are my own.
I have loved everything about blogging and meeting other bloggers has been especially terrific. Every follower that has popped up on the sidebar of the blog elicited a scream of happiness from me. It's so exciting to think people want to read slices of life that I write about.
Now, the challenge is to learn more and more. I love reading other blogs and listening to the beautiful music some of you have on your blogs. Oh, I wish there was a one-on-one tutor who could show me how to do so many more things. The desire to learn more is strong.
In the meantime, thank you! Thanks to all of you who have come by to visit, those of you who have chosen to follow, and to all of you who have taken time to comment. I LOVE blogging and am thrilled to meet all of you wonderful people!
So, on to the next 100 posts!
Night is coming in this photo but a new day, and a new post, will dawn tomorrow!
Are there any topics you would like me to write about in the blog? Travel pieces? Interior decorating? More on hobbies? Recipes? What interests you? I would love to have some of your suggestions.

Hi Susan,
Congratulations on your hundredth post. Love it. And yes, I agree with you, having your own pictures are way better because you don't have to worry about copy rights or anything.
I love digital cameras, especially with my clickity fingers and no expense to develop them. I think they created the digital camera just for me. lol Great photos.
Determination will always give you the strength to persist until you get what you desire. Keep at it. Anything else you want? You already know how. Keep doing what you're doing.
Oh, yes, what did you want training on?
Hi Terri! Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. I'm so glad you can hear the joy in my voice because, definitely, it's there! Okay, I'll keep writing about what I love. And I LOVE having visitors and comments! So thanks! Sincerely, Susan
