Beautiful Gifts for the Kitchen....

Some people have a knack for going into thrift stores and finding absolutely gorgeous, high quality items.

A friend of mine has this needle-in-a-haystack talent. She can peruse a shelf of various artifacts and spot the gem every time.

Some of her treasured trophies are bound to end up as Christmas and birthday gifts and that is A-okay with me! Her presents are always loved!

Last Christmas, the favorite gift from her was a round Chinese serving dish with detailed blue and white and yellow flowers on it. It is a raised dish and makes a perfect centerpiece on a blue and yellow kitchen tablecloth. It adds so much to the decor.

Then, as an additional delight, my daughter gave me a patterned blue plate for the kitchen wall plate collection. It's a perfect compliment to the Chinese dish!

This is the beautiful dish my daughter gave me at Christmas. It has now joined other blue and white plates on our kitchen wall and looks great!

I can only hope my friend keeps visiting every thrift store within a 100 mile radius. She knows exactly what I love and has a generous heart that loves to give special treasures for the home!

Oh, Susan! I actually think I have a plate like the one your daughter gave you! Don't you love it? And the one your friend gave you is truly amazing. I wouldn't have been able to resist it either. (It appears that we like many of the same things.) Enjoy the items and the love and friendship that they represent. (I know you DO!)

Hi: Love the plates. I do the same thing, when I find a item that I know my friends would like I give them as gifts. I would love to open a shop one day. I just do not see how fincially I could do it. I know I have more than enough stuff to fill it. Have a great day. Blessings to you, Martha

Hi Martha...SOOOO happy you stopped by and left a comment. Oh Martha. Can't you just find a little place and rent it for your shop? It would be SO AWESOME! It would be worth flying to California just to shop there! Think about it. Sincerely, Susan

Hi Adrienne...Yes, I like blue and yellow, too. Actually, we just remodeled our kitchen and those are my colors. I never was partial to blue but I like the combination. Thanks for your visit and comment! Sincerely,Susan

Hi Susan
Thank you for the birthday song today. I LOVE blue and have three rooms of it at my house. I also love green and have two rooms of that and one of lavender. Enjoy your blue and yellow plates. I thought your kitchen looked awesome!
