Celebrating 200 Posts!

Okay, sound the trumpets!

Start the drum roll!

Tah tah tah tah tah tah! In just a few short days this blog will reach the 200 posts mark since it began about six months ago! Can you believe it? (I sure can't.)

To commemorate the 200th post, I'm going to have my very first giveaway. Because I love used books so much, there has to be three of those. One is "Living a Beautiful Life" by one of my life mentors, Alexandra Stoddard. While we have never met personally, she is a kindred spirit and her writing and suggestions have enriched my life immeasurably.  (Check out her website.)

"How to Care for Aging Parents" I referred to a lot but no longer need because my Mom and Dad have gone to the other side and no longer need my help.

Lastly, "A Little Bit Wicked" is a book sent by one of my sisters. Admittedly, it didn't appeal to me too much so it wasn't read but the title appeals to me! Ha!

A funky little handpainted vase will also be part of the giveaway. It has a pastel yellow background and daisies would look gorgeous in it. It's shown here with yellow daffodils.

To enter, all you have to do is be a Follower of this blog and leave a comment, indicating you want to participate in the Giveaway. I'll put all entries into a basket until April 26, the day that marks the 200th post, and the winner will be drawn.

Early last October, my husband and I went to see the movie, Julie and Julia. Of course, Julie wrote to people on her "blog" throughout the entire movie. I had no idea what a blog even was but thought it looked like something interesting to do if I could find out more about it. Shortly thereafter, the local library offered a three-part free blog workshop so I immediately signed up.

Before the third session, Writing Straight from the Heart came into being.

Since then, my journey through blogland has been fascinating. At times, when there were computer glitches or something I couldn't figure out, I'd start crying out of total frustration!  During those times, my adult "children" thought their mother had gone slightly mad but I just wanted to post.

The people, fellow bloggers, I have met have been wonderful. Every follower who has signed on to read this blog frequently elicited a happy yelp from me.

So there you have it. Hope you want to participate in the 200th post giveaway.
Sending lots of warm wishes and love to all!  SUSAN

Hi Susan, thanks for stopping by, it's nice to meet you. We have tons in common, cranberry glass, O brother where art tho,and best of all Cindy inspired me as well. I had written "my life on the water" type of blog but it was more a diary than hers. I enjoy the decorating, cooking, thrifting, crafting stuff, so thought I should share my knowledge in this type of forum. I am having a blast so far. I look forward to checking out your site in more detail.Cheers, Rhianna

Hi Susan: I just love to read your posts. Congratulations on reaching 200. That's the writer in you. I would love to be a part of your give away. I did get your email about my button. I just do not know how to do it. My friend Sares does all my buttons for me. Have you tried asking on your blog? That is how I found Sares. I just asked if anyone would be willing to help me and she volunteered. Wishing you a wonderful week. Blessings, Martha

Hi Susan, I've been MIA for a while but just got caught up on all your posts. I have a small collection of safari animals too. It's easy to find those types of things on this side of the world. Love those brightly colored Indonesian kitties. I have a couple of wooden carved cats that sit on either side of our tv room. Congrats on your upcoming 200 posts. Wishing all the best for the rest of your weekend. :) Tammy
