Cindy's Show and Tell Friday at My Romantic Home!

This is the very first time I'm participating in Cindy's Show and Tell Friday and let me tell you, this is exciting!  (If you have never visited Cindy's blog, "My Romantic Home," for heaven's sake, go there ASAP. You are in for a treat.)

Cindy's "My Romantic Home" was the first blog I ever saw in blogland. Discovering it was like finding gold at the end of the rainbow. It was so beautiful to me.  From that day forward, my journey in blogland has been as exciting as a fabulous roller coaster ride.  It's a whole new world for me!

So, today I would like to introduce you to my Indonesian cats  My little kitties are very colorful and quite unique.  I discovered them in a hotel gift shop in Tucson, Arizona. The Mama cat, however, was a yard sale find and she was so happy to be reunited with some of her colorful babies! Ha!
The Indonesians sure love to use a lot of color and different designs in their art. Through doing a little research, I discovered that many woodcarvers there use the wood from Albesia trees. The latter are planted specifically for use in native handicrafts.  Once planted, the trees can be harvested four years later, which is apparently a pretty quick turnaround in the tree world! It's a very lightweight wood, too, which, I would imagine, helps in exporting the wood art from Indonesia.

I hope you enjoy my colorful kitties which I keep on a white shelf in my (rather cluttered) home office.

Thank you, Cindy, for making the world a better place with your blog, "My Romantic Home." Also, thanks for answering all my questions and for even sending instructions on how to put your button on my sidebar!  You are awesome! Sincerely, Susan

Wow, Susan! You are a woman of a multitude of collections :) These are so bright and colorful...(My sister & brother-in-law lived in Indonesia for several years. I'll have to show them your cats.)

I've had similar experiences with "blogging people". My world has expanded greatly since I began.

Hi Susan.
I love your collection of kittens. The colors are beautiful!!
Thanks for the nice comment you left on my blog.
And the detail that you had to write in Spanish.
Ah! I love the Blue and White Pitcher. By the way, Since I lived in Scotland I'm crazy about Maple Syrup haha. In Spain it is not known although you can find in any store.
Kisses and hugs from Catalonia!
