Martha and Terri's TEA CUP TUESDAY!

The back of today's featured tea cup  on Writing Straight from the Heart reads, simply, "By Ganz."

The cup and saucer do not appear to be of any antique value. However, the deep burgundy roses displayed on both the cup and saucer are quite enchanting, especially to a person who loves roses.  So, the value of this cup and saucer is simply in enjoying it!

Because my mind is forever curious, I tried to research the "Ganz" name. The only company I came across with that name was established in Canada in 1950 by Samuel Ganz and his two sons.  The company is still going strong, with corporate headquarters in Toronto. It's  now run by a grandson, according to information written on the company.

There are offices of Ganz in several U.S. cities as well as in Hong Kong and Shanghai.

The company makes gift ware, garden decor, and toys, including Websinz (plush stuffed animals.)

If the Canadian Ganz Company made today's featured tea cup, they definitely created a pretty one!  One feature of it that I absolutely love, besides the roses, is the odd-shaped saucer.  It's very different and unique.

By the way, I found my treasure in a Goodwill Store near Albany, N.Y. and paid $4.99 for it. (Worth every penny, in my book!)

Please stop over at Martha's, http://www.marthasfavorites.com/and Terri's http://artfulaffirmations.blogspot.com/.  If you love tea cups, and sweet blogger friends, you are in for a treat!

Susan that is a beautiful cup and saucer. I love the bold colors but it is still feminine and very elegant! One of my favorites I've seen.

Hi Susan,
Very pretty and unique teacup! You never know what treasures await at a thrift shop.
Thank you for your kind words again. To answer your question on our garden tours-we do have several tours from Japan starting in early June where a bus pulls in and anywhere from 18 to 40 people get off for a 2 hour stop with either tea and dessert or cookies and lemonade and sometimes a house tour as well as garden tour.We have had cruise ship tours and sometimes bus tours from the U.S. I enjoy doing the tours and then I enjoy some lazy days too!
Take care,
Carolyn
