Christmas Tree Lights Up Living Room and Hearts: Monday, Dec. 6, 2010

For many years, when our children were little, we had a fresh cut tree decorating the living room at Christmas time but not any more.

Once I discovered an artificial tree didn't require daily vacuuming and looked just as magnificent when adorned with gold, cranberry, and pink, I was sold.

Actually, a very dear friend gifted me with the tree, which juts up into the air seven feet high. Across its middle, it's probably another four to five feet. This is one humongous tree.

It takes my husband about four hours to assemble it every year, after it's brought down in a mountain of bundles from the attic. Then, once it's up, it takes me another four hours minimum to decorate it. But once done, all the hassle and time are worth it because it's a very beautiful tree that brings joy to us and to all the guests who come to visit during the holidays.

When my friend delivered the tree to our house, she mentioned that it came on a rotating stand. I had no idea how that was going to work out but it really makes for a magical Christmas tree. The rotation is very slow and can be seen  outside from the front window. The tree twirls in all her frilly glory. Angels, large gold balls and hearts, and pink ornaments tucked among the branches, do a slow spin as the tree rotates.

Sending wishes for a beautiful holiday season to you from Writing Straight from the Heart! May your hearts be filled with happiness, laughter, peace, and deep serenity.

DO YOU TRIM YOUR TREE IN THE SAME COLORS EVERY YEAR? WHAT ARE THEY?

Wow, beautifully done! Love those ribbons and ornaments on that awesome tree! We have 3 children that have their own themes plus I do a blue and white "Let it Snow" filler theme for when I don't want to decorate. The kids love making their own snowflakes so it's a win-win. LOL Thanks for sharing!

Susan,
You have a gorgeous tree and beautifully decorated house. My tree has no particular theme or color; I hang ornaments from years past, some store bought, some made by the children and also my students.

Hi Susan, first time visitor. That is one amazing Christmas tree. Ours is up and partially decorated. Decorating is half the fun! And thanks for stopping by over the weekend and saying hi.

Beautiful tree. I've seen it rotate in all it's glory in person. The pictures don't do it justice. Peace and love today and throughout the season. xo

Oh wow Susan! That is one gorgeous tree! I hardly barely decorate the back of our's because I figure no one can see it. But when it is on a rotating stand, you gotta make sure you hit all the branches. You have dressed it beautifully! That shot through the windowpanes of the door is magnificent. Best wishes, Tammy

That is such a beautiful tree! It makes me want to get my up but we still use a fresh tree so I will have to wait a little bit yet.
