Every Second Is Precious!: For Dayle's Simple Pleasures Party

This week's Simple Pleasure, a handmade wooden Snowman, evokes a lot of emotion. Here's why:

The wooden Snowman with the happy face makes me sad.

Attached to him is a priceless recipe for love that, if followed, has the capability of changing lives.

A dear person  who is an incredibly talented artist gifted me with Mr. Snowman a few years ago.  It's signed from her and her husband. That's where my sadness originates. That beloved man lost a valiant fight for life in February of this year. He died very young from pancreatic cancer.

The Snowman will continue to decorate our kitchen for he is now a testimony to the preciousness of life.
We cannot take for granted even one second of any day. So, in addition to Mr. Snowman, each moment of life, itself, is a Simple Pleasure. Every moment we are alive is also a treasure!

Here is Snowman's recipe for love that is attached to a recipe card:

            2 hearts full of love
            2 armsful of gentleness
            2 cups of friendship
            2 cups of joy
2 big hearts full of forgiveness
            2 minds full of tenderness

Stir daily with happiness, humor, and patience. Serve with warmth, compassion, respect, and loyalty.

HAVE YOU HUGGED SOMEONE YOU LOVE TODAY?

Now be sure to hop on over to Dayle's blog, A Collection of This and That, http://alittleofthisandthat2.blogspot.com/  and check out all the other Simple Pleasures. Her blog button is in the sidebar, too!

Susan,
So true. Yes, every moment is precious and we sometimes take it all for granted. A lovely tribute to a special friend.

How often we take each other for granted. Your post is a timely reminder to actually stop and think of others.

What a precious little fellow. I still smile when I see him because it reminds me of how much pleasure I have derived in the past making things for others. Yes my partner is no longer physically present to me, but the recipe for love shared with every other person in life would bring much happiness to my little corner of the world if I did those things the recipe says to do. Thanks for a lovely memory. :)bb xo

Sad and happening so many times everywhere now it seems....Christmas seems to heighten loss and the memory of loss, no matter how long ago the loss occured.

I have! after all that went through last week (my SIL's mom passed away unexpectedly) I am living each day to the fullest, trying to overcome the bad moments the best I can, and hugging all those that mean the world to me, and telling them how much I love them. Life is so short!!
hugs your way!
have a wonderful day :o)

Dear Susan, this made me cry. I've been a bit of a cry-baby lately anyway, but this really touched my heart. Life is so fragile, so precious, and the snowman is really a testament to that, in more ways than one. Thanks for linking up to Simple Pleasures. I'm late getting by to see everyone, but am looking forward to it.
