"King" of the Gingerbread World

Gingerbread houses have enchanted both children and adults for ages.

Whether they are simple cottages with vanilla wafer roofs and gumdrop trees in a frosting yard, or stately mansions with candy-covered turrets, people love them.

No gingerbread house I've ever come across, however, can top the one seen recently  while having lunch at the Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, Massachusetts.  It definitely could be named the "big daddy" or "king" of all gingerbread houses made (at least in this part of the country.)
Every color imaginable is there as well as white chocolate horses, a sugary green alligator, and hundreds upon hundreds of candy coated details.  The creators of this house used every bit of their imaginations in decorating this yummy delight.

Even more surprising is that it is still standing on a table at the far end of the chandelier-studded dining room.  After all, Christmas is a memory and a new year has begun.

Still, it is a delight to see the house has not yet been torn down.  Just seeing this creation helped get the new year off to a very "sweet" start!

WHAT, IF ANYTHING, DO YOU LIKE ABOUT THIS GINGERBREAD HOUSE?

All I can say is wow! I watched one of those cooking shows where the challenge was to make a gingerbread house in a certain amount of time. It was amazing what folks came up with and astonishing what you can do with chocolate and icing. Very creative indeed! Hope you are having a peaceful day! Blessings, Tammy
