Monday, April 25, 2011: Candles Galore and More at Yankee Candle Company

Yankee Candle Company in South Deerfield, Massachusetts, has a startling array of candles in every kind of fragrance imaginable.

Can you even begin to fathom a place that offers 400,000 candles in 200 different scents? No wonder a sign outside reads "Scenter of the Universe."

This colorful animal greets visitors out front.

It's a great place to go for a day trip because there's so much to see and do. Whether buying gifts for a birthday or bridal shower, looking for a new scent in candles for your own home, or wanting to enjoy a unique experience, a visit to Yankee Candle Company has it all.

Scores of families travel to the flagship store, not just for candles, but because there are so many imaginative displays.  The company describes itself as a place where "magic comes to life" and that is not far from the truth. It's really quite an enchanting place.

From the rows of pansies greeting visitors outside to animated figures, candle dipping, and of course, shopping inside, this is a really fun place to visit.

Christmas is year-round at Yankee Candle Company. Look who lives here:

Check out all the displays below to get an idea of what one can see there. Each is mesmerizing and allows visitors to become children again as they gaze in wonder at all the colorful details of villages in miniature!

Wow oh Wow! I wanna go there. Just walking into one of their stores is pure bliss so this flagship store must just be heavenly. I love vanilla and cinnamon and the smells of baking like pumpkin pie or tiramisu. Divine! What a lovely place to visit. Best wishes and blessings, Tammy

I love Yankee candles! I burned fewer candles though these days. About four years ago, my mother's home burned although not from a candle. However, once you have dealth with the ash, smoke and destruction you never feel quite the same about smelling smoke or seeing flame.I will still burn a candle occasionally if I sit right beside it! Yankees are my favorites!

Hi Susan! You live near the greatest places! I love many different candle scents, depending on the time of the year. Right now I love Clean Cotton, and any Beach scents!

Hi Susan just bought a clean cotton one as a fund-raiser - love the smell! I gave it to FLyboy for Easter in his "basket." This place looks wonderful. Glad to see Old Saint Nick - did you know that today is Rudolph Day? I'm posting something about it later.

I rarely burn any candles...so afraid of a fire but I enjoy them at other people's homes. The miniatures are darling in your photos.

Thank you for taking us on a visit. The place sounds fascinating. By the way, my area was not touched by the tornado. Thank you for asking.
