Most people have tried "hummus."
It's a chickpea appetizer, usually served with triangles of pita bread. I make mine with the chickpeas, lemon juice, tahini (sesame seed paste), and a tad of garlic salt. Everything gets whirled around in the food processor until smooth.
On top go olive oil and paprika.
Last weekend, at a pre-Thanksgiving dinner, the hummus was served with triangles of a veggie wrap because I didn't buy pita bread.
Also on the appetizer menu was "zatar." This is a very unique, delicious mixture of different herbs, Lebanese style. In the mixture, which I buy at a Lebanese bakery, are sesame seeds and oregano.
Mmm mmm mmm
In the blue partitioned plate, shown above, were cinnamon candied almonds that my daughter made. They were great, too! She put M&Ms in the middle. It was a nice hostess present!
HAVE YOU TRIED HUMMUS AND ZATAR? IF NOT, WOULD YOU LIKE TO?

I love Lebanese food - Mediterranean food - now I have tried hummus - but never Zatar - and I would if I could. I love this food - my favorite. sandie
Looks good to me! I like hummus but have just learned about it.
While in St. Louis a friend took me for a quick trip to a Trader Joes...none here. I tried to tell her about your favorite chicken but could not remember what kind it was! I had fun looking at things there though! I saw some hummus but did not want to cart it home four hours on the road.
As Rose from the Golden Girls might say," I didn't know two ladies that liked same sex, sex, had there on food style?" I'm sorry, just my sick sense of humor. Please forgive me. Your food sounds wonderful. Richard from My Old Historic House.
Susan, I am a mess, please just consider the source when you read my above comment. Richard
Love hummus! S&P pix are so cute. My grandmother collected them for years. All the grandchild got one and a teacup when she died.
Love, LInda
