(The shop owner made this Joseph's technicolor dream coat from thrifted
materials. More information about it is below in today's post.)
Whenever I hear about a person following his or her dream and starting a business, it makes me happy.
Following one's bliss is what some people think about and other people do!
Kathy Kearns of Western Massachusetts, shown in the photos above and below, is one of the "doers."
For years, this marvelously talented woman has created costumes for local musical and theatrical groups. She finally decided to hang her hat, so to speak, on her own shop door. It's located in Pittsfield, Massachusetts.
be.spoke is the name of her new shop. It's full of every kind of costume imaginable. Santa and Mrs. Claus duds are available, too.
Kathy, a talented seamstress, put together Joseph's technicolor dream coat for one show and it's a piece of art. It could easily be framed and hung on a wall for everyone to "wow" over. It was made from completely thrifted materials.
She also did a huge "Ursula the Sea Witch" which hangs from the ceiling of the new shop.
Exceptionally talented, Kathy even loves decorating the shop's front windows. The displays change periodically.
After the holidays, the shop is going to carry vintage outfits, jewelry, and so forth, in addition to costumes.
Here are some brooches currently for sale in the shop:
Kathy deserves a big and hearty , "CONGRATULATIONS!"
IF YOU WERE TO FOLLOW YOUR BLISS AND START YOUR OWN BUSINESS, WHAT WOULD IT BE?

It must have been a fun place to visit.
I always thought about doing a little bed and breakfast, but wanting to and having to are entirely two different things. Thanks for the pictures.

Man she is so talented (whiny chatty said) - I don't have talent like that - she is awesome.
If I could start a shop - it's be a hotdog shop! A Chicago Hotdog shop.
Love, sandie
What a wonderful thing to be able to do what you love! Looks like every visit here would be a fun adventure!
Happy Wednesday,
Karen :)
A couple of friends and I have talked about our dream of having a little strip of buildings with a craft shop, coffee shop and small soup/sandwich shop. They are both from Upstate New York so I'm guessing that's where it would need to be. :) It is a wonderful thing when one follows his/her passion. Happy day to you! Tammy
I love the costumes!
I would have a tea shop and my doll collection on display.
