Pets Are Love-in-Action

Our pets are a lot like our children.

We love them from the moment they come into our lives.

Sometimes they frustrate us but we always forgive them.

They make us smile. They fill our hearts with pride and love.

They can be expensive but are worth every dime we spend on them.

They love it when we feed them and they crave occasional cuddling.

My own beloved Honey Cat can be real persnickedy. (Not my children though. ha!)

Here, when I ask her to look at me so I can snap her photo, she ignores me.

And here, she seems to be saying, "Take a profile shot."

Just like our kids, we can never have enough photos of them!

A few weeks ago, our cat (Honey Cat), was viciously clawed by a neighborhood bully cat.

What I didn't know is that the attack caused a huge abscess. She didn't eat for four entire days  and had a fever.  Worried sick, I brought her to the vet.

The abscess had to be drained, she had to get a shot of antibiotics and some liquid for dehydration, an updated rabies shot, and two kinds of drugs to help calm her down.

That was a most dreadful afternoon.

Now Honey Cat is totally on-the-mend and I am so relieved she didn't die. A part of my heart would have gone with her if things had turned out differently.

Honey Cat, a fierce tigress, also likes to relax in the lap of luxury and that is just fine with me.

I'm just happy she lived to meow about it.

ARE YOU A CAT OR A DOG PERSON?
DO YOU HAVE A PET NOW?
WHAT IS HIS OR HER NAME?

What a sweet story, so glad that she made it through!! she's adorable & I love the name too! I have two cats (brothers in crime, lol) and they are like my children, of cause I have pics of them on my Blog :) they for sure will take a piece of my heart with them the day they have to go.they are only 1½yo so hopefully I will have them for many many years to come, they only go out in a leash. Love the way Honey Cat ignores you when you try to take her picture, lol. so catlike ;D
wish you a wonderful weekend ahead, Hugs.

My cat and I had a special bond; he came when I called or patted my chest, but then he was raised from 4 weeks old on my chest. I've had some dogs with great personalities, too. Now, when I think I want another one, I remeber how I had to get a sitter for them when we left town. I love and miss them, and will treasure the memories.

Linda,
So glad Honey Cat is on the mend! As a veterinarian I love cats and dogs madly, but cats have to win out for me every time. I am surrounded by several as I type, and one just rearranged my screen display. Besotted would be an apt description.

I am so glad Honey Cat is OK. You know I'm a cat lover(always have been) and my current kitty Charlie is such a love. I too will lose part of my heart when he goes. He is only 13 so I'm hoping we have many years left. I love how you said when I call her name for a photo she ignores me...oh that is Charlie to a T! She is such a pretty cat...give Honey Cat an extra cuddle from me.
XO Linda

I love the photos of your cats, they are so adorable and cute. I used to have both cats and dogs in the past, I think I am more a cat person [maybe] they are independent pets. Have a lovely weekend!

Hi Susan,
Honey Cat is beautiful.
I'm a pet person from way back. We have always had animals in our family...but my special love is cats.
I have a 9yr old jack russell called Kyton...His birthday was this week and I gave him a little birthday lunch...because in dog years he is approx 50 years old....and in our family we celebrate all the 5 and zero birthdays. I put photos of the Birthday Boy on my blog.
God Bless

Oh, Susan, I'm so glad she's recovering. Losing a pet is painful. I still think of my two cats, Abraham and Sarah. They brought much joy to our lives.

I'm so glad Honey Cat is okay. I've almost always had a dog or cat in my life. I do love dogs, but not feasible to have one here. And Jingles wouldn't allow it anyways. :) Best wishes to you, Tammy
