Splendor at the Lake

One recent night I paid a visit to a lake in Western Massachusetts.

Arriving at dusk, I got out of the car and walked to the edge of the water.

The scene before me soothed my weary soul.  The sky looked like a watercolor canvas. Muted colors brushed against the horizon.

Soon the sun, on its journey to the night, burst out from behind a  cloud and reflected a million sparkling shards of light in the water of the lake.

It's times like this that make me want to cry for the incredulous thrill of being alive.

I stood at the shoreline of the lake, transfixed by the sight before me.

My heart filled with gratitude for the gifts God gives every single day of life and the extra special ones, like sunset on the lake.

Once the sun sunk down below the horizon,  the sky turned completely pink, my favorite color.

The busyness and marathon aspects of the week melted completely away after seeing sunset on the lake.

DO YOU HAVE A LAKE WITHIN DRIVING DISTANCE OF WHERE YOU LIVE?

IF NOT, WHERE DO YOU GO TO FIND SERENITY?

There's nothing more soothing than a water view. I'm so glad we live close to a number of bodies of water, including the Gulf Coast.

Your photos are fabulous!

Beautiful! That last image with the golden hues and soft pink glistening on the lake water is absolutely magnificent. Have a lovely day. Tammy

Water. I want to dangle my toes in it, sit beside it, watch it. Yes, it soothes me too. Your photos are gorgeous.

I live next to a lake and the Pacific ocean...sunsets are wonderful here too. I love being near the water. It gives me great serenity. I love your pictures too. You captured the sunset that is God's work in all of them.

I love those pictures and I would love to have a place like that close to me. That I could drive to and feel safe at any time I wanted. I guess there are lakes around here - but honestly it is not like that.

To answer your question, I find serenity through looking up inwardly toward the heavens at My Lords loving care.I also love to look at His mountains and His ocean ,they bring Me peace.
