Wrought Iron Plate Holders

Do you absolutely love going to a yard sale with nothing in mind to buy?

Around here we support neighborhood yard sales.  So off we went down the driveway of a neighboring house.

Looking over the various items, I was happy to say to myself, "Nope, don't want that" or  "Nothing I cannot live without."

Meandering into the garage which was also filled with "stuff,"  I saw them.

They seemed to be calling out my name very loudly but, strange as it seemed, nobody else could hear them except me!

They were two  wrought iron plate holders with very Victorian tops and they would look so pretty on a table or buffet top.

Price?  $2.00 each. Holy crow.  I just about screamed "That's too little."

It will be fun to change the plates, especially at holiday time.

That was the best four dollar purchase made in quite awhile.

ARE YOU AN IMPULSE BUYER?

Yes I am, especially when I can finds like yours at that price.
I had some great finds at a church sale on Saturday, which I have posted about on my blog. I was over the moon with excitement. Have a nice day xx

More like an "excited buyer". When I see something incredible at a yard sale or shop, I can hardly contain myself. I once yelled out, "You've got to be kidding me!" When I found a rare piece of my Rooster and Roses pottery for a quarter. :) Kit

I can imagine your restraint in not saying, "That's too little!"

The really are sweet plate holders (not sure I've ever seen table-top ones quite like this before--but then I don't get out much.)

When I find a good deal, I laugh out loud. Folks must think I'm crazy, but who cares? It's a good deal/find and it gives me such joy! ;-)

Well, weren't you lucky, Susan! We have given up on yard/garage sales for a few years (for obvious reasons), but I still enjoy taking a stroll through antique shops.:) Yes, at times I am an "impulse buyer." Often I have no particular list in mind when I go into an interesting place.

You were lucky - those had your name on it I can tell. Very pretty and you can change them every season.

I just dropped Andy off at school today and his school was having a garage sale. I saw one of those cars - the little plastic ones - and I had always wanted to get my kids one and then Andy, but I never had the money. They are over a $100.

But not I have Will - so I stopped by - and asked how much. She said $5. It was in great shape and clean. And guess who came home with a car in her car? ME!

Nope..I'm not compulsive at all. I think with all the fancy plates you own this was a very good purchase for you. They will look lovely displayed anywhere in your Victorian style home.
