Today is the first day of a brand new month, November.
October was great, filled with lots of activities and gala Halloween but it's now over.
I like to take down the decorations as quickly as possible.
The calendar has been flipped to the new month and the space allotted for each day is filled with promise and expectation.
November's always been a kind of sad month for me.
There's a distinct chill in the air, too. The sweet warm days of summer are now just memories.
Thanksgiving Day comes toward the end of the month and that's something to look forward to.
Plus, November signals "get ready" for the holidays ahead and there's wayyyyyyyy to much to do. Have got to remember to take deep breaths again!
May this month hold good things for each of you.
Let's make the most of each day, each moment of November! It is just so good to be alive!

How come November is sad for you Susan?
I have always liked November. It is my husbands birthday, my mom's birthday, my parent's old anniversary, and Thanksgiving!! And it's short.

It's a short school month :) and in St. Louis the weather is still mild 50s-60s, so I can walk outdoors. Although I detest the early darkness.
Yes in November the days are short and the landscape bare. To everything there is a season. I hope your November is good this year.
November begins one of my favorite seasons of the year - starting with our grandson's birthday on the 2nd, through the Thanksgiving festivities later in the month, then our special Advent By Candlelight, a UMW program at church with nearly 300 women attending.
I try to be sure that the activities on the calendar are not those that would distract me from the true meaning of the season.
November can be a beautiful month weather-wise so I hope that is true this year. Eastern people need every perk they can get and nice weather would help. Enjoy November, Susan.
I like Nov...its the month I take a breath and try to think about my year and how much I have to be grateful for. December is such a busy month that Nov is more reflective for me.

This year I get to meet my future son in law on Thanksgiving and will have BOTH my children and grandchildren with me on that special day. Truly this will be a gift from God as they live so far away during the year. Yay November.
November holds many memories for me, and happy times as well. My daughter has a birthday on the 4th, and my parents' anniversary was on the 9th. Then, there's the wonderful Thanksgiving family dinner at my sister Nellie's home, with lots of people that I don't get to see very often and LOTS of wonderful food! I become quite reflective during this month that we observe as a time for giving thanks, and I'm most grateful for every opportunity that God has given us to live in a land where we are able to celebrate without fear. God has truly blessed us, and I pray that you will have an enjoyable month, Susan! :-)
November for me is a time to spend extra time with my family and stop to consider the things I am thankful for.
November is great here pity we couldn't spend 6months in the northern hem and 6months in the southern hem but you would get sick of the spring and summer all the time cold frosty would sound good after a while.
That is a amazing grandfather clock in the former post you would need a very large house for it, my aunty had one many years ago, as a kid I liked to hear it chime, I always wanted one but the beer fairy said he would leave if I got one he doesn't even like ticking clocks.
