Afternoon Delight

Yesterday a most wonderful surprise came in the late afternoon.

It was chilly in Western Massachusetts.  I was downstairs in the man cave, writing, writing, writing.

I ran up the stairs to retrieve something from the kitchen.  The late afternoon sun was just setting.

Thanks to daylight savings time, it was going to bed much earlier than usual.

The sun spilled incredible rays onto the amber glass lining two large kitchen windows.

I stood, transfixed, looking up at extreme loveliness.

The sun's golden rays poured onto my face as I stood near the stove.

Braving the chilly temps, I stepped out onto the porch to get a last look at the sun as it dipped farther down into the sky's horizon.

Another day was almost done but the night ahead  held great promise.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE TIME OF DAY?

My favorite time of day is when I get into my bed under the covers and go to sleep. After hectic days and tons of stuff to do it is so relaxing to just vegetate under the covers and read a book or say a prayer.

My favorite time of day, most days, is right after supper, when I relax in the recliner to watch the news and Wheel Of Fortune! :-) Sometimes, I fall asleep in the middle of the news, and that always annoys me, but I have started setting the DVR so I can watch later when that happens. Your photos are lovely---looks like you have your own suncatcher! Thank you for sharing with us! :-)

That is so pretty. My favorite time of day is morning. I get up and get my cup of coffee and check emails and all my favorite blogs. I connect with all my friends and see what everyone is doing. Relaxing way to start the day. hugs, Linda

What a glorious sight. I would have been mesmerized by this scene, as you were. How wonderful that you were at the right place at the right time.

I would have to say that I am a "morning person." Of course, in order to be that kind of person, one must enjoy the early bedtime that makes it possible.:)

That amber glass is lovely with the sunshine shining through it.

Isn't that glorious!
I don't know. I love the solitude of early morning, I mean EARLY.
I love evenings when it is cozy and the lamps are lit.
Sunrises and Sunsets.

The amber ware is beautiful. Our youngest daughter's name is Amber & I am frequently picking up misc. pieces of amber ware for her.... You're right! The setting sun really brings out all the beauty here!
