Hurray for the Holiday Tray!

One of my favorite artists is Mary Engelbreit of Missouri.

Her whimsical style of painting is colorful, happy and pleasing to the eye.

I've purchased her calendars for years and have even saved the drawings from those pages.

Last weekend while perusing a thrift store, a holiday tray caught my eye.

It was in need of washing and buried under other stuff on a shelf but sure enough! It was the work of Mary Engelbreit.

When I got the tray home, I washed it in hot, soapy water and let it dry.

It's got a darling figure of Santa wearing turned up, elf-like shoes!

The borders are pretty, too.

I love it!

It now adorns the kitchen counter near the sink.

It's as if I received an  early Christmas present, a  $1.79 Christmas bargain!  Woo hoo!

And an early Merry Christmas wish for Mary Engelbreit and each of you!

ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH MARY ENGLEBREIT'S WORK?

Girl, you are much more literate in the arts then I am. I have not heard of her. But I can tell you I like that tray and that if I found it I would buy it. Stay warm. sandie

My dear sister introduced me to Mary's work several years ago, and I have to agree that it is most delightful! I really like the tray with the snowman on it, and I don't think snowmen are so seasonal! You can use them for several months, depending on what part of the country you are in. Enjoy all of your festive artifacts, and keep sharing them with us! :-)

Yes, I am familiar with her work. Oddly enough, though, I seem to be lacking a Christmas tray.:)
