The Gifts of Sunday

Sunday is meant to be a day of rest.

Sweet Sunday, how welcome is the sound of your name.

Thanks to you, there is a visit to God's house.

Thanks to you, there is a break from routine.

Thanks to you, the week gets off to a better start.

Sunday, today we rest.

HOW WILL YOU SPEND YOUR SUNDAY?

Andy is sick - so we will not go to church. So I think we will have a pretty quiet Sunday. What about you?

We go to Sunday School and morning worship services, then have our usual leftovers from the fridge, followed by a bit of a nap before Sunday evening services and choir practice. It's not really a day of rest here, but the activity is spiritually rejuvenating and I'm so thankful that I grew up in a home where church was the usual Sunday activity! I hope your Sunday will be a blessing for you and your family, Susan. :-)

Oh, I do love Sundays too. A day of rest and time to slow down and listen to our Lord as we prepare for a new week.
I will be visiting my dad tomorrow afternoon.
The house is decorated for Thanksgiving now and I'm getting ready to go on a quilt retreat on Monday.
Thanks for commenting on my Tasha post.
Love,
Linda

Believe it or not, on Sunday morning I clean house and feel so happy that it is sparkly clean for a few days. Then, I sit and reflect, pray and count my blessings. Today I am going to a funeral visitation.

My Sunday has already included going to church for Sunday School and worship. We have Communion on the first Sunday of the month, a very meaningful ritual to me.

Presently, I am continuing to "nurse" my ankle with an ice pack. Also, it is fun to work the crossword puzzle (not the NYTimes, but a much simpler version:) ). I may find energy to get a head start on preparations for the lunch I serve for approximately 20 at our church adult day care on the first Tuesday of the month.

And - always keeping those in the northeast who are enduring inconveniences and heart break from the storm in my thoughts and prayers.

xo Nellie

Our earth would be better off if we all just rested on the Sabbath and gave thanks for what we have.

Well I don't really rest. But I did decorate for Thanksgiving and that made feel great and full of gratitude for my home. Kit
