There's a miniaturist in Massachusetts whose dollhouse astounds!
Violet Wilcox has been working on her dollhouse, which is more like a mansion, since 1993.
She's graciously agreed to let you, my dear readers, take a peek inside.
First, let's go into the living room.
Everything has been decorated for the Christmas season. Here's another shot of the real-looking little girl, fast asleep on a chair.
Be sure to check out the tiny cards on the mantle as well as the stockings filled with goodies for the dollhouse kids!
Look at the tiny nutcracker under the glass dome and the old-fashioned framed photos!
Don't you just love the lacy curtains?
Surely the dollhouse children love the beautifully decorated Christmas tree.
Those custom made draperies are pretty elegant, too!
Isn't everything just fabulous?
Here's the talented miniaturist herself!
(She's also an amazing artist who creates paintings on canvas.)
Every room is filled to the brim with exquisite details.
An old-fashioned Victrola can be found in the living room.
Violet attends miniature shows and buys artist-quality items for her mini-home.
A beautiful fireplace can also be found in the dining room. A tiny tree on the mantle reflects in the mirror.
There is also a glass filled with candy canes.
An exquisite hand-painted lampshade, covered with pink roses, illuminates a corner of the dining room.
See it in the background?
Violet crafted the turkey, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and so forth out of clay.
Don't you just love the black and white checked floor in the kitchen?
There are freshly baked goodies on the kitchen table.
And there's Grannie, smiling, in a chair near the window.
Many thanks to Violet for sharing her immensely charming dollhouse.
Thanks, Violet!

Now that is one of the prettiest dollhouses I've ever seen. My mother and aunt both had ones - my aunts was just as big and when she died she willed it to some place. My mom's was a little smaller. They are amazing and very EXPENSIVE!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, Susan! What a fun way to start my day. I've always loved doll houses and played with an old metal one at my grandma's when I was a little girl. Certainly nothing like this gorgeous one! My favorite room that you showed is the kitchen! I LOVE the old stove and sink, etc. Thanks for sharing! And thanks to Violet for allowing you to share with us!
This dollhouse is truly amazing! Love all the details. It's lovely to see someone enjoying their hobbies so much!
hugs, Linda
Oh, I'm so happy she let you show us The House! Makes you want to "move in", doesn't it?
I would consider it museum quality, wouldn't you?
Happy New Year, by the way, Susan. (I've been buried under my new Smart Phone!)
She is so very talented. What an amazing hobby?
All I can say is that I want to move in! It reminds me of the dollhouse my mother made with my grandfather. It had had some mild TIA's and needed something to occupy his time and not think about his health. They created a magnificent dollhouse with my mother making every bit of furniture on a miniature lathe.
This lady is as amazing with the detail she's put into this home. Thank you for sharing and bringing back a wonderful memory, XOXO
What a beautiful doll house :)
Well this is indeed a spectacular doll house and I know if you had the money yours would be just as good. Nothing like an artist's taste is there? Pictures were fabulous Susan!
OH MY GOODNESS I am going to show this post to my neice! She will fall in love with this.
You are right that is a wonderful dollhouse the best I have ever seen, a true labour of love.

Absolutely adorable! Never have I seen something quite like this, though I was quite taken by the exhibit of miniatures on the lower floor of the Art Museum in Chicago in 1990. This lady is quite artistic!
The old fashioned kitchen takes the prize! This is amazing.
