Gifts for Celebration!

Gifts. I love giving them and getting them!

They make life extra special and happy.

On our 39th wedding anniversary last weekend, my hubs took me out to dinner at a Mexican restaurant and then to a fabulous concert. (More on that another day.)

I gave him a card and a framed love sonnet. It was actually a re-gifting because I originally gave the framed sonnet to him when we first married!

It has been around all these years through several moves including more than a decade living in the southwest.

One of my sisters sent us a card and money. I hung the card up on the kitchen door. I'm still thinking of something meaningful we could get to remind us of the giver and her thoughtfulness.

Our daughter and son-in-law gifted us with a night in an elegant Vermont country inn!

It includes a five-course dinner as well as breakfast and our choice of more than a dozen rooms.  WOO HOO!  (I help take care of my little grandchild so that helps them save on daycare.) Still, their kindness and generosity overwhelmed us.

Whenever we go, I'll be sure to bring my camera and notebook for you, my dear, sweet readers.

Our son called us from out-of-state and our daughter-in-law sent us congratulations. It was so nice to be remembered.

Several blog friends sent Happy Anniversary wishes, too, which meant so much to me!

It was a wonderful day.

The certificate to the Vermont inn came wrapped up in tissue paper inside the colorful gift box shown.

At the end of that day, my heart was filled to the brim with gratitude.

WHAT WAS THE LAST GIFT YOU RECEIVED?

What a wonderful, thoughtful gift! I'm sure you will enjoy that lovely time away from your usual abode, and having someone else serve you delicious meals!

The last gift I received was dinner out with our daughter, who lives out of town. Her hubby was not able to come with her, so she treated her dad and me to that special meal for a combined anniversary/birthday gift, and we truly enjoyed the time with her. Our 44th anniversary was Jan. 25, and Hubby's birthday was Valentine's Day, so it worked out very well for all of us. Alas, we probably won't see her again for several weeks, but we're in close contact via phone, so all is well. :-)

Oh, my! A night in an elegant Vermont inn! That is something I would truly enjoy!:-)

The last gift I received would be the flower arrangement from my husband for Valentine's Day. It actually still looks rather nice, surprisingly.

Sending belated anniversary wishes to you!

My honey knows how much I love dark chocolate, so he bought me a bag of pretezel thins, these yummy flat crunchy pretzel twists coated in dark chocolate. Just when I thought I had eaten the last one, a new bag appeared. Have fun at the B&B.

Susan,
I've always wanted to go to Vermont - what a wonderful gift. I'm glad that you had such a special day on your anniversary. I love Mexican food too. The last gift I received was actually last weekend. I was shopping and came across this cute FAT bunny, and my husband bought it for me. I will post about it sometime. Have a wonderful week, Susan.
