Dolls in Pastels

Anything from childhood that evokes happy memories is worth hanging on to.

So it is with my dolls.

Yes, the childhood  years happened a long, long time ago but the memory of loving dolls is still fresh in my mind today.

I've shared before on this blog that dolls have always made me happy.

As a kid, in a playhouse my father built for me, I kept up to three  dozen dolls.

Some had missing arms or legs and one had no head! ha!

I laugh now, when I think of such weirdness.

Anyway, as an adult, my collection of dolls has grown way too big and someday it will have to be weeded out.

In the meantime, however, a Guatemalan hutch in the dining room often holds an assortment of dolls.

In winter, the dolls in red or  green velvet deck the shelves.

For spring, those in pastels have come downstairs and the red velvet-wearers are now back on the second floor.

Today we are joining Home and Garden Thursday on Kathy's blog, A Delightsome Life.

Why not stop by and say "hello?"

Thought I'd show you some of the little sweeties.

WHAT IS SOMETHING FROM YOUR CHILDHOOD THAT YOU STILL LOVE?

Dear Susan, your dolls are all so beautiful as are your memories.

I still have a few of my childhood things and, you are right, they are very special to me.

Having a doll with no head sounds like the work of a big brother :) I know my brother would had gotten a kick from beheading my dolls!

About the only thing left from my childhood would be pictures. The dolls must have taken another route away. I do have a small rolling pin that Mother would sometimes let us use on leftover scraps of pastry.

I love your dolls in pastels! They definitely make an eye-catching display.

I remember swinging in the backyard and singing away. Well at my advanced age I still love singing and have a chance to do it in my job every single day.

Hello from Spain: I love collecting dolls. I like to regain my childhood dolls. At this point I am trying to create a large collection of Barbies. I also like vintage dolls. Your collection is awesome. Keep in touch

Oh yes, dolls, tea sets, doll clothes, paper dolls and a few books! All favorites from the past. I know we are kindred spirits. How is the mini bakery coming along?
