Color Galore

One thing about Shelburne Falls, Massachusetts, is that in summer it is bursting with color.

Not only are there hundreds of gorgeous flowers to look at, the town is filled with all kinds of colorful things, like the cool, eye-popping chairs shown above!

There are ancient pot holes in the town, too, and they truly are geological wonders.

They are very old and it's utterly amazing to see them.

They were a great attraction to show to guests from out-of-state!

I like to think about how they were formed and what the earth was like at that time.

The wonders of our world never cease to amaze.

There are so many unique things to do and see!

DO YOU LOVE GOING TO NEW PLACES ON DAY TRIPS?

How lovely - I think those places that have real winter make the most of the summer months - what an amazing place - this world is fantastic - so much beauty and wonder to behold! I do appreciate you sharing with Home and Garden Thursday,
Kathy

Yes, I really enjoy seeing new places, and especially trying out local eateries and such. One of my most favorite things to do is to get on a little back road and just follow it out to see where it leads. Back in the days when gas was not so expensive, we made some most surprising discoveries that way, and I still enjoy doing it when we can. Around here, we don't preserve our potholes, but these are interesting to look at!

Those colors by you are fabulous. And I love going on day trips almost better than any other kind. I too marvel at the world and what it holds and what the Maker has done for us. sandie

One of my favorite things to do is to take short trips to discover what is going on at places nearby.

I love to travel and just got back from a great trip down the Danube river...yes the world holds all kinds of wonders for us and traveling is very educational. My favorite day trip is to the Pacific Ocean where I can marvel at the waves ad surfers.

What beautiful colors! Pot holes? We have them, too - but not like yours :) (That's what we call the holes in the road left after winter!)

Yours are much more admirable!

Cool - love the shots!!! I love to do new and "adventuresome" things but it seems lately we're in a rut!

I'll vicariously through you for now:)

Hi Susan! Thank you for sharing your town with all of us. The photo's are just gorgeous, the water looks so different...all shiny and rippled.
What an amazing thing that sinkhole is. It does get you to thinking about the past, doesn't it? Walks in the woods make me think of the challenges of the early settlers, so I can relate.

Happy Wednesday!

One or two day trips are my favorite. Definitely want to make the drive to Shelburne Falls; maybe in October when the foliage is at its peak. Didn't know about the pot holes; will have to check them out also.

We do love to eat outside and do so almost every day in the summer and fall. Even in the winter, we have had a bonfire on a cold, sunny but windless day and have eaten chilli and hot bread from the oven. Desert would be hot chocolate or coffee and pie. Yum... I think that to really be happy in New England one has to embrace and enjoy all the seasons, as they each have their unique beauty and charm.

The Red Lion is a great place to visit and dine any season of the year. We especially like the Red Lion Inn turkey dinner at the Lion's Den on a cold and blustery winter evening!

Hello from Spain: Massachusetts is a beautiful place full of color and life. I like summer and in winter with snow. I love knowing different places. My problem is that I have not much free time to travel. Keep in touch
