Be a Candle in the World

 Remember the Candle Song?

Part of the lyrics stated that if everyone lit just one little candle, what a bright world this would be.

Think about that. Picture the blackest night without a single twinkling star or silvery moonlight to light a path.

Then suddenly, against the pitch blackness, you spot a teeny tiny light.

It shines gloriously in the dark. It's the light of a single candle that illuminates the abyss.

Each person alive can be that candle.

You never know when someone really needs the light that will shine from within you.

It can make all the difference in another person's life.

Today, I hope you will light a candle in your own heart and let it shine for everyone you see in order to make the world a brighter place!

HAVE OTHERS BEEN "CANDLES" IN YOUR OWN LIFE?
(There sure have been, and continue to be, quite a few candles in my own life for whom I am deeply grateful.)

Lovely thoughts. Yes my dear you have been my candle, especially in the dark days of the illness Ron lived through and the aching heart I wore on my sleeve. Truly, you were there for both of us, even if it was just to weep with me. Hearing the beatitudes at Mass on All Saints Day made me think if you. .... You are a light toany Susie!xo
Ox hope this ends up where it's supposed to!

A single candle can dispel the darkness. We must let our light shine, now more than ever before.

That lyric reminds me so much of my Kelly; she truly was a candle to so many people and her light shines on in her son. Thank you for your shining post today, dear friend, XOXO

Yes indeed! I try to let my little light shine each and every day but there are so many people who want to steal it away. I am doing my best to ignore them but so hard at times! :) Hugs and blessings, Tammy

Very thought provoking blog...especially at this time of year when the physical darkness of shorter days can bring a sense of melancholy.

If we ask ourselves how each one of us can be a light to those around us the darkness will disappear; physically and spiritually. Being a "candle" we will live light-filled and purposeful lives.

Yes, there are many "candles" in my life also for whom I am always grateful.

May you have a brilliant day!

Hello from Spain: I like your reflection. Yes, I have my husband like my candle. He is essential in my life because he always brings light and gladness in my day. We keep in touch.

Too busy to light a candle today...but nice thing about November is rainy days make for nice candle burnings. Know that is not the only candle kind you had in mind.... Have a good week, Susan!

I know you will think I am just saying this because we are friends on the blog - but you really are a candle in my life. I love my little angel right next to my bed. You're a little light of mine! sandie
