Oh, You Beautiful Dolls

The dolls in the dining room Guatemalan cabinet are about to be relocated to the second floor as decorating for the holidays commences.

Just a  couple dolls will stick around downstairs  for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Among them is the little sweetie pie, right below, who has previously been written up on this blog here and here.

Her pink, lacy dress has already been exchanged for the red Christmas velvet!

She was found, dirty and disheveled, at a church yard sale.

After a major clean-up as well as dressing her up, she became quite the beauty.

Decorating for the holidays takes a great deal of preparation, as most of you already know.

So much has to be packed away to make room for Christmas decor but, in the end, it will be worth it.

ARE DOLLS ANY PART OF YOUR HOLIDAY DECORATIONS?

I have about 10 dolls they sit on the spare bed in my activities room where I spend a lot of the day when I'm home.
I don't do any decorating in that room it's my area unless someone stays over for the night.

That dolly in her holiday dress looks like your real baby doll.

I don't have any actual dolls that I use in my decorating, but I do have 2 elves(from my childhood) that I always use. I arrange them at the tippity top of the Christmas tree. They are a reminder of all my happy childhood Christmases.

I love the red velvet dress for your dolly; I remember my mother making velvet dresses for my 2 sisters and myself. I'm sure we all looked liked "living" dolls to her.

Hello from Spain: I like your collection of dolls. I also have a large collection of vintage dolls. My favorites are the babies. I like the red dress for Christmas. I decorate a bed with my favorite doll though many I have them stored. I have two little girls and they always want to take my dolls. Keep in touch

There are no dolls as part of the decor here. Our granddaughter will play with the few that are around when she visits, as that is the reason they are around.:-)

Oh yes, dolls are part of my world and part of my Christmas decorations. I have always loved dolls. I try to keep them under control, but they just don't listen. It keeps us young Susan and I love to play dolls.
Have a great week,
Linda

I have one set of Christmas dolls purchased over time from the Ashton Drake Gallery. It consists of 2 boys and 2 girls dressed in their Christmas best. Each doll came with something extra. One came with an artificial tree, one with a box of ornaments, another with a bowl of popcorn to string for the tree and the last with a wooden ladder to
climb for the star to be placed on the tree. Arranged together on a table, these dolls are a sweet remembrance of childhood Christmases.

I do not collect dolls. I have a cabbage patch one in the garage that used to belong to my daughter..do you think it is worth anything these days? I'm sure you are having fun dressing up your dolls for the holiday season.
