Enchanting Wedding Out of a Dream

Imagine a wedding reception in a snow-studded Victorian mansion decorated to the nines for Christmas.

The white horse drawn buggy pulls up with the bride and groom in front of the majestic old house.

Several acres of land surrounding the mansion sparkle under the coat of newly fallen snow, sparkling like diamonds under a moonlit sky.

All this and more was part of my niece's wedding reception.

The mansion, dubbed Commander's Mansion in Watertown, Ct.,  took my breath away.

No matter where we go, I usually tell my hubs, "I like our house better."

Not  this time. The Commander's Mansion would be a place I'd love to live!

It was so elegant, so yesteryear and steeped in history, so absolutely divine!

Just enjoy the magnificent decorations all wedding guests enjoyed for the special event and for the magical holidays!

More on the elegant mansion's chandeliers and fireplaces tomorrow!

 Woo hoo

HAVE YOU EVER ATTENDED A WEDDING RECEPTION IN A VICTORIAN MANSION?

Oh my, I am in awe too, especially if horses are involved. There were photo ops at every turn, thanks for sharing here.

Hello from Spain. I really like the Victorian mansion. Your niece is like a fairytale princess. A very elegant and romantic wedding. I did not attend events in a Victorian mansion. In my country there are not many buildings like that. Keep in touch

What a spectacular setting for the wedding! And the newly fallen snow must have put it over the top! Looking forward to more pictures.

I have not visited a mansion such as this, altho I do stay at a Victorian inn when I visit my son in Boston. It was built in 1870 as a private residence, but not as stately as the one in Waterford. I have visited at Christmastime and enjoyed seeing it decorated for the holidays.

And people think dreams can't come true - wow - that is really a dreamy place. Like Cinderella or Snow White's Castle. So happy for them.

Can't remember about a wedding, but I have toured some lovely Victorian homes at holiday time.

It was all my wedding dreams come true, like being in a fairy tale. I hope you can post some pics of the horse and carriage in the newly fallen snow. It was magical! Love you Aunt Sue! <3
