Penguins on the "Lake"

Music boxes enchant.

There's just something magical about them.

It's doubtful there's ever been a music box created that I didn't fall in love with.

Once, in a consignment shop, I spotted a darling "North Pole"  mirrored  lake scene.

Tiny penguins spin around on the ice.  Just to see them twirl brings out the smiling kid in any viewer's soul!

There must be magnets right underneath the mirrored surface of the "lake."

I never regretted buying the sweet scene and even got it at a price far reduced from the original tag!

DO YOU HAVE A FAVORITE MUSIC BOX?

I have several music boxes and the minute the grandchildren come they turn them all on at once as they are displayed altogether on a coffee table. Some don't work anymore because of all the times they've been wound up. I love any kind of music box...would LOVE that penguin one too!

I have several musical Christmas globes and I place them on a tray on the coffee table to enjoy. I also love to watch children look at them and listen to the music .My 2 favorites of the many we own are the one with a simple reindeer in the woods and Santa in the snow with polar bear & penguins.

Isn't this time of the year the best for such things ? And the memories they bring back or create...

I love your little snow scene music box - with the skaters.

I don't remember having a music box.

I did buy a very nice wooden one for Andy for his confirmation last year. It plays Amazing Grace. That is our song. We read the story of John Newton and since then we just love the song and it's meaning.

I used to have nice Nativity music box that played Silent Night...a favorite but I gave to my niece...nice to pass things on when you can see people enjoy them after you. Then you double your pleasure!
