Arrival of a Favorite Calendar!

(All photos in this post are from the Susan Branch 2014 wall calendar and are done by the artist. You can order Susan's creations by going to her  website at www.susanbranch.com)

This first week of the new year has brought below zero temperatures and a sore throat!

Neither of those make for a happy beginning of the new year.

But the mailman's delivery saved the day.

Peeking out from the mailbox was a large brown cardboard envelope that contained my 2014 Susan Branch calendar!

Any new year would absolutely have a hole in it without one of these calendars.

I've been ordering them for years.

Many of you are probably already familiar  with Susan who is a truly wonderful artist with a spirit that could light up the darkest night.

She's written numerous books, many of them cookbooks, and most of them are lined-up on a shelf in our home library.

I wouldn't sell them for all the tea in China.

The calendar illustration directly below is perfect for the freezing cold weather today!

Her paintings and writing delight.

They exude charm, as does the artist, herself.

They are personal, adorable, little slices of life.

She makes people smile and believe that life, despite all its difficulties, is absolutely terrific.

If you haven't gone to her website or read her blog, you are missing out on some pure joy.  www.susanbranch.com

My new Susan Branch calendar now hangs from the kitchen door.

2014 can officially begin!

ARE YOU FAMILIAR WITH SUSAN BRANCH?

Yes, I discovered Susan Branch about six months ago - she does lift my spirits and many of her quotes have found their way into my book of quotes I keep for inspiration. (As tempted as I have been to order Susan's calendar, I've gotten my calendars from the "Mouth and Foot Painting Artists" for years. They inspire me in a different way.) Those who don't know of Susan need to go to her blog. What a joy she is.

Oh my, yes! I "follow" Susan Branch! In fact, this was a "Susan Branch Christmas" at our house! Her book "A Fine Romance" was gifted to each of our three daughters, and I received the three charms she has recently designed! The girls also expect the very same calendar each Christmas, and we do not disappoint.:-) I would be totally lost going through a year without my Susan Branch calendar in place!

Susan Branch is awesome! Her enjoyment of all the seasons is very inspiring. Her ancient house on Martha's Vineyard is quite enchanting and her blog reflects that.

I have never had a Susan Branch calendar but aspire to. I do have 2 of her cookbooks which I cherish.

Hope you are feeling better. Lots of germs around; just recovering from a bout of sickness myself. Happy 2014 to you!

I know Susan Branch work and they are lovely. Sorry about the throat but at least you got through all the holidays first! Perfect time and reason to sip, sip, sip...tea. Here sun is out but will not melt at 23. Tomorrow into the 30s but possible flurries and freezing rain again. Ah. the joys of January.
