In Praise of Flowers and Friendship

Friends and flowers both make life extra special.

When a dear, long-time friend, Dolores, brought the flowers shown in this post over for Valentine's Day, it touched my heart.

Just like the variety of flowers in a garden, we have shared many life experiences throughout the decades I have known her.

We have laughed and cried together, done crazy things when we were young and share a multitude of memories.

Like the beautiful bouquet of flowers, this dear friend will always hold a special place in my heart.

It's true that friends are the flowers in the garden of life.

Today, my wish for you is friendship.

WHAT FLOWER ARE YOU MOST LIKE? A ROSE? A DAFFODIL? A VIOLET? WHICH?

Lovely flowers from your dear friend. Yes, friends are flowers in our life gardens.

Your friendship is certainly special to me. I would like to be a hydrangea. They adapt to their surroundings by changing color according to the soil they are in. Sort of like, bloom where you are planted. That's me! :) Best wishes, hugs and blessings, Tammy

This was fun to think about. I decided I'm a primrose - I bloom when it's cool (even cold) and fade when the heat comes.

Last October I attended my 50th high school reunion, then this past Thursday I had lunch with three of the ladies I had reconnected with in October. It was like 50 years had never intervened. Us women have a gift for that, don't we? I think we'll be seeing a lot more of one another. Friendship is sweet.

My favorite flower? The tiny Violet, I think...

Sweet flowers. I know a dear friend sent me flowers last year on my birthday and it was such a surprise. She lives far away and we don't see each other often, but great friendship does survive. I think of myself as a Rose. It's the flower of June(my birth month,a flower with many layers(petals), fragrance and inner beauty.

I guess I would say a Rose, although my birthday flower is the daffodil. Roses are my favorite flower. Beautiful table cloth and so bright and cheerful with the flowers for the snowy day in progress here.

Have a fun and peaceful weekend.

I do not have a favorite flower...love them all. Maybe red roses are a little more special than most flowers! Happy Valentine's to you. Nice of your friend to send you these!

What beautiful flowers, Susan! Yes, we have had quite a winter! You asked earlier about the peanuts I put out. Yes, I buy the large bags of unsalted peanuts in the shell. The birds are very good at pecking through the soft shells and getting to the peanuts inside! Stay warm!!!
