Cut Glass Bowl

Who can ever have enough glass bowls? (Not me.)

On a weekend Goodwill run to look for toddler dollhouse figures,  a very pretty cut glass bowl zoomed right into my  path of vision.

It's zig zag edges appealed to me as well as the unique design patterns.

I could picture sparkling deep red cranberry sauce in it or whipped cream for strawberry shortcake.

Its elegance was reminiscent of elegant Victorian times.

As a little voice in my mind argued that I didn't "need" another cut glass bowl, my hand was lifting the bowl off the shelf and placing it in my shopping cart!

It cost $4 and I thought that was a steal.

Loved washing the little bowl in sudsy hot water with vinegar added to it.

It shines. It sparkles. It's a beauty.

Very pretty, Susan! We received several of these as wedding gifts 40+ years ago. My entertaining is so very casual that these don't see enough light of day! :)

I love cut glass bowls and vases. My favorite bowl is one I inherited from my grandmother. She always used it for applesauce, so I do too - and other things. I have a pretty cut glass vase that my dad gave me - it has pink silk roses in it that I bought on sale at Michaels the other day.

Love cut glass also; yours is a "steal" for sure. I'm sure it will grace many a lovely table setting and more at your home.

I have several cut glass candy dishes that I use a lot, for many things other than candy; also a pickle/relish dish that belonged to my mother that never fails to bring a bittersweet smile to my face as I see her placing the dish on the Thanksgiving or Christmas table....

Your glass is lovely. I never had much glass but a friend gave me glass coasters for my table. Lately I picked up lead crystal napkins rings for a song. I might be leaning the direction of glass. Ha!

Nothing around here stays sparkly for long. I had a pretty yellow ware bowl that I bought at the Friday market but hubby knocked it off the counter recently and it is no more. :( Have a wonderful day. Tammy

I think that cut glass bowl was beautiful. And I know that you can certainly decorate it to be beautiful! But glass bowls is one thing I don't collect. Just never have.

Love, sandie
