Lilies with Love

We read a lot these days about nurturing ourselves.

At first, it was an alien concept to me.

I mean, we nurture others but ourselves?

But with age comes (some) wisdom, right?

Now I like to think of things that nurture me.

If I've been working really hard on something, relaxation sounds good.

Working on my dollhouse miniature hobby is very nurturing because it makes me happy and brings joy.

So does jumping into a whirlpool and letting the hot bubbles relax my tired muscles.

All the photos you see in this post are the result of self-nurturing.

Lilies thrill me.

I try to select bouquets that have lots of unopened buds because they will eventually open into gorgeous blooms, way bigger than one's hand.

Their fragrance makes me want to bury my face in them.

I think I kind of like this self-nurturing, don't you? (hee hee)

WHAT DO YOU DO TO NURTURE YOURSELF?

I like to give myself little bouquets of flowers. I bought a bunch of daffodils the other day and they've been a joy to have near by.

Lilies are such wonderful flowers... such wondrous fragrances.

Love it when bloggers say right out, that they choose to nurture themselves! Love it!

I am always for self nurturing. Always. Life throws enough curves at us. Why not nurture ourselves, as much as we can?!? :-)

Oh! And a big Oh! Without any *guilt*!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like to get away by myself for a while. I take myself out to lunch with my Kindle, or go to a local park for a walk, or to the gorgeous grounds of a local retreat center near here. These simple things really feed my soul.

I like to go to the pool and then in the jacuzzi. I nurture myself by soaking in the sunshine! I love lilies and when they are at Trader Joe's I love to buy a few.

Susan,
Flowers are very relaxing to me too. That's why I'm always taking pictures of them. Your lilies are beautiful. They remind me of my niece, Lillie.

Have a nice weekend.

love,

Flowers or a new plant is a nurturing thing for me. Also a special something to pamper myself with once in awhile just makes me feel special!

Your flowers are beautiful, Susan. I confess I'm conflicted over the concept of self-nurturing. I think that we carry it to the extreme sometime. I certainly don't judge anyone else, but sometimes feel bombarded with all SORTS of experiences, exotic & sweet foods, pleasures and expensive products to pamper ourselves because "we deserve it". There's got to be a balance somewhere - and flowers seem to be a good balancing act :)

I do love your self nurturing girl - you do just enough to make your life nice and pretty.

One thing I think that nurtures me is having friends like YOU.

Love the lilies...their sweet and spicy fragrance is wonderful and seems to really permeate the space they are in.

Nurturing oneself is very important as it gives you the strength and desire to nurture others in your life. What goes around comes around, right?

Hi sweet Susan,
I love lilies and all flowers!
The way you decorate your flower bouquets are gorgeous.
You really know how to nurture yourself with beautiful things.
I can't wait to see your miniature dollhouses...
Well, I find simple things to nurture myself, like singing, writing poetry, watching the moon and stars in the sky, loving my pets, smelling flowers, observing mother nature, having good friends, etc.
Thank you, Susan for sharing your beautiful world with us!
God bless you.
Blessings,
Starry.

Lilies are my oldest daughter's very favorite flower. Your huge pink blossoms are gorgeous! Very pretty pampering!

I was so busy when I had a family, that I don't mind taking time for myself now that I'm retired. I love fresh flowers too and have just learned the joy of getting a small bouquet at the grocery store...every now and then. But I always take a leisurely bath and surround myself with things I love. Very nice post my friend!
