Bowling Ball Art

The first time I saw bowling ball art was on Pinterest.

Artists turned regular bowling balls into gorgeous pieces of art.

So when I saw bowling balls on a shelf at a Goodwill store, I bought two of them.

What I had in mind was making them into decorative objects for the back yard.

I covered one of them with little pieces of broken china plus glass pieces----the kind you see in bags in the plant section of dollar stores.

I glued each piece onto the ball which took a long time as one has to wait for the pieces to dry completely before moving on to the next section of the ball.

Eventually I added grout.

This was my very first attempt with bowling ball art so, considering I didn't know what the heck I was doing, as seen at the very top of this post, it came out pretty good, don't you think?

Today we are joining Home and Garden Thursday on Kathy's blog, A Delightsome Life.

Thanks so much for hosting, Kathy!

HAVE YOU EVER ATTEMPTED A MOSAIC PROJECT OF ANY KIND?

Oh, how interesting, Susan. I have always loved mosaic, but never attempted to do it. You find so many things at the Good Will Store. It's time for a visit there to see if I can find some goodies.

love,

That is a great idea Susan! And you did a wonderful job! I have done several mosaics! They were fun but a little messy and very time consuming. I enjoy looking at them though! :)
