Thoughts on Monday

Mondays are pretty welcome after a nice weekend.

We had delightful weather the past couple of days-----brilliant sunshine and cool temps. Perfect!

Saturday morning, hubs and I attended one of our favorite functions----a farmers' market.

I bought some tarragon as well as window box plants---- coleus and million bells.

We were about to walk back to our car when I spotted a drop dead gorgeous hanging begonia.

It had profusely growing fire-engine red blooms!

Oh, it was a sight to see.

Since I had squirreled away gift money from our 40th anniversary in March,  there was enough to buy it, even after the other purchases.

Hub's eyes opened wide when he saw the guy from the market carrying it to our car.

It is truly one of the most magnificent begonias I have ever seen in my life.

You know what?

My paternal Grandmother always had begonias so maybe that's why I had a visceral reaction when I laid eyes on that beauty.

So the dashing begonia now hangs, in all her glory, on the back porch and I am grateful to the core.

How was your weekend?

WHAT CAN YOU TELL ABOUT THE CARE OF BEGONIAS?

Beautiful flowers, and I think it may be a typo, but I love the way you refer to hubs as HUGS. I LOVE THAT!

Susan,
Farmer's Markets are one of my favorite places to go on the weekends. The red flowers are so pretty and they look nice hanging there at your home.

Have a blessed week.

love,

That beautiful begonia will brighten up the greyest of days with a glowing pop of color. Good choice! The pleasant thoughts of your paternal grandparents will just add to your enjoyment of it.

This cool and breezy, but sunny Spring weather has been most enjoyable. It is the perfect weather for Spring cleaning inside and out. Organizing and cleaning and filling all the pots and window boxes has been a cool weather project around here. All the flowers that will fill them are living in the sunroom until Memorial Day weekend and then voila! their beauty will be enjoyed all summer and into the fall.

Happy Monday!

I have always loved begonia's. One year it was my favorite plant in an otherwise very ugly little apt. I called her Ruby Begonia of course. This one is magnificent!

Hello from Spain: you always buy the most beautiful flowers. Monday is the worst day of the week because again I return to the routine of work, school girls. I prefer the weekend. Keep in touch
