"Lazy Man's Tabuley"

p.s.
Dear Blog Peeps:
There's still time to put your name into a memoir giveaway on Vickie's blog Musings, Tea and Me.
The winning entry will be drawn tomorrow, on the Fourth of July!

And now for today's post!

With tomorrow being July 4th, I'd like to share a really delicious dish that you might like to bring to a holiday gathering.

It's simple to make and sooooo delicious.

I learned about "Lazy Man's Tabuley" from my brother-in-law, Jim, who is of Lebanese background.

His godmother, Samia, taught him how to make it. She called in Fasulia M'Tabuley.

Regular tabuley (often spelled tabouli) is a rather labor-intensive salad that requires extremely fine chopping of parsley, onions, etc.

Well, Lazy Man's Tabouley is simple, delicious and fast..

It is so yummy.

Jim says it's guaranteed to "impress your friends/family and most of all, your nostalgic Tabuley deprived tastebuds."

I say it's a great dish to keep in your refridge or to bring to a potluck.

Thanks, Jim!

Here's the recipe.

                                        Lazy Man's Tabuley
 Ingredients to serve 4:

4 cans of Cannelloni Beans
1 Bunch Fresh Mint
1 Bunch Scallions
1 cup Olive Oil
1/2 cup Lemon Juice
2 teaspoons of Salt
1 teaspoon of Black Pepper
1/4 teaspoon of Ground Cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon of Ground All Spice
1/4 teaspoon of Ground Cayenne Pepper
Simply drain the water from the beans, chop the scallions and mint, add remaining ingredients and toss.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE DISH TO BRING TO A POT LUCK DINNER?

Yum, Susan! I will definitely try this recipe. I have two favorites, the first is Texican Caviar, the second is Asian Coleslaw. You are giving me an idea for a blog...except with all that's going on, it'll have to wait a couple of weeks...it'll be great to post either on a HOT summer day, though. -Happy 4th of July in case the day gets away from me tomorrow!

This just looks fabulous! I like the easy part. My mouth is watering. I usually make a salad too...I am hooked on the watermelon, blueberry, mint, feta cheese on that has been going around. I like to cut the watermelon in little heart shapes.

Will definitely have to try the lazy man's Tabouley; so good for you too!

I like to bring a tomato/cucumber salad that is very easy and tasty. Chopped (chunks, not too small) tomatoes, cucumbers, onion and cheddar cheese. Add Italian dressing to taste along with salt and pepper. Healthy and tasty.

Have a great 4th of July!
