Summer's Passing

Summer is galloping to an end.

It has been a quick but wonderful season.

However, it's not over yet.

We can appreciate every precious second that's left by living in the moment and not thinking about it ending.

Everyone has favorite aspects of the season.

Here are some of the reasons that I've enjoyed the season, immensely,  so far:

1. Sleeping a little bit later in the morning.

2.  Taking little day trips.

3. Buying fresh produce from the farmers' markets.

4. Seeing beautiful flowers everywhere.

5. Sun! Sun!  Sun!

WHAT HAVE BEEN SOME OF THE BEST PARTS OF YOUR OWN SUMMER?

Hmmmmmmm. The weather - especially the unexpected pleasantly cool days...and flowers (though I've not been out and about as much as usual to see them). Special times visiting with my parents. Come to think of it, it's not been a "normal" summer for me.

Fresh tomatoes out of our garden have made my summer delightful. I also love to see the colorful flowers. It is going to be near 100 here in the Midwest. Summer is finally showing off. We've had unseasonably cool this year.

Hello from Spain: I love the summer months. The first week of July is my favorite. Sun, heat and vacations. My summer is wonderful. Small travel with my husband and daughters to the beach. My girls love to swim in the sea. Also I have in my home swimming pool. We enjoyed the pool and bike rides. In my country school starts in mid-September. In September sun still enjoyed. Keep in touch

We need the temperatures of summer to enable our vegetable garden to grow!

This has not been a normal summer for me either. And it has been extra fast and hard. Always hate to see summer go but am hoping this year that autumn brings some quieter days so looking forward to the change of seasons.

Summer all year round here with sunshine just about every day. This year I do NOT have to go back to work so will really enjoy sleeping in and going to the pool. This summer I've enjoyed a boat ride on the beautiful lake, many musical shows with friends and several movies....life is good!

We are definitely on the same wave length, my friend. I was just thinking that instead of lamenting the coming end of summer I am going to enjoy each moment. xo Laura

I can't believe summer is coming to an end already, Susan. I took a few pictures today just to savor the time we have left.

Lucky you to sleep a little later! Sometimes when I'm getting up early for work I think how I can't wait to go to bed - sad but true! Although even when I have time to sleep in a little I always get up early.

Hope that you have a great weekend!

Okay I guess we do need summer for everything else in the world to work out. It is not my favorite season now in Hotlanta!

Watching our cool New England spring turn into a warm and robust summer is always such a pleasure. The flowers and vegetables are at their peak right now and we are so lucky to have such abundance.

It has been a wonderful summer with lots of guests, frequent visits from our kids, concerts and boat rides and just being able to spend time outside in the beautiful Berkshires!

Loved all your flower pictures!
