New Englanders are hardy people.
We are used to harsh winters so news of a mega storm coming is just kind of taken into stride.
That's right. No one was going to go hungry if stranded inside houses and cars were ready for take-off, if needed, with full tanks of gas.
The funny part of the mega storm coming to the part of Massachusetts where we live is that it didn't!
We hardly had anything!
Schools were closed, there were warnings not to drive and admittedly, there was some fear of what the storm was going to be like.
However, only about five inches of snow fell and that is really no big deal
There were no blustery tree-spitting winds and, while it was certainly on the chilly side, it was bearable.
Of course, we felt sorry for the people and city workers in areas that did get whammed but also thankful it wasn't bad here.
Actually, I had a wonderful "at home" day. Freshly made veggie soup was in the crock pot and date nut muffins, fresh from the oven, smelled great.
The mega-turned-mini storm, in these parts, resulted in a super day from start to finish.
It was actually a nice treat in the middle of winter.

I think the whole North America was watching for this blizzard that never was.... Well, at least you had an awesome stay at home day. Home made veggie soup and freshly baked muffins on a cold winter day sound simply wonderful. :)
It does sound like a great day at home. So glad you didn't get tree splitting snows. I wish the news media would learn something from this. They focus on the weather to the exclusion of real news that's happening around the world as we worry about snow, something that occurs every winter.
I love just being with my dear sweet, little family...it is always wonderful to have an "at home" day with just us! God is SO good. I loved seeing your lovely pictures of the snow! It is always a blessing to stop by here. :) Have a wonderful day, sweet friend!
I am glad you missed it - aren't you? I wish we could get a couple snow days here - but so far no luck.
It was a lovely day to stay home and watch the light snow swirl around outside while the fire blazed and yummy smells permeated the house. Five inches of fluffy white snow and very little wind turned the landscape into a winter wonderland. There is something so magical in being "snowbound". It is a time to just relax, listen to some music, bake something delicious and smell the snow! (instead of the roses)
Now that I'm retired every day is an at home day. If I don't want to venture out I just stay in my pjs. We do not have snow here just bright sunshine and I usually go to the pool each day for a workout with my aqua class. Loved seeing the snow pictures...

When we lived in Massachusetts, we had some pretty bad storms and I'm sure we would have had almost 3 feet since we were just outside of Boston! I'd bake and make soup! XOXO
Hello from Spain: I saw on TV in my country the storm in your country. I see it was not such a bad storm. Thankfully. Anyway in your city too much snow. When I'm at home one day I order the cabinets. Keep in touch
Only 5" of snow, Susan? Wow, we got belted! And since I work from home as an artist and freelance transcriber, I guess I don't have many "unexpected" at home days! But, I must admit, I do a lot less work and a lot more admiring Mother Nature than I do when it's not snowing! Have a great week!

Snow is pretty, that's all I can say good about it. Hurry spring.
I'm glad your storm was normal one. No snow days here and I do love a FEW. You might not believe this but it was 73 here today in Midwest. Wierd! It is changing and wet stuff of some kind for weekend is coming...but today...it was a gift.
