Palm Sunday

Christians celebrate today, Palm Sunday.

It signifies Christ's entrance into Jerusalem just a week before his death and resurrection.

People waved palms in the air and placed them on the ground  as He came triumphantly into the city.

 No one hated Him then.

 No one wanted Him crucified.

It was a  day to celebrate.

Ever since childhood, we brought palms home from church on this day.

We'd hang them up, usually above the doorways, or behind crucifixes, in our house.

Some people make crosses from them, such as shown at the top of the post.

When I think of what followed Palm Sunday, the beginning of the Passion of Christ, my heart gets so sad.

Tears fall spontaneously when pondering His suffering and death.

But today we will rejoice.

DO YOU CELEBRATE PALM SUNDAY?

I remember bringing home a palm branch each Sunday when I was a child but, for some reason our church doesn't do that now. I wish they did. I enjoyed your post this morning.

Beautiful post Susan!

I used to celebrate Palm Sunday when I was a child.

Today I'm spiritual but no longer religious and so I don't actively celebrate it anymore. Seeing posts like this brings back nice memories. :) Enjoy your Sunday!

My daughter in law made crosses out of all the palms we collected at church. Lovely day...my youngest grandson sat with me and he was just an angel...long service too with the passion said.

I remember getting the palms at church and saving them through the years. I watched The Passion of Christ last night with husband. Every time I see it, I cry. I think it was one of the best movies about Jesus made by Mel Gibson.
