A Day of Sadness

"Behold the wood of the cross on which hung the Saviour of the world."

Today, Good Friday, is a day of deep mourning for Christians.

When I was a child, we were not allowed to play music or even talk in our house from noon to 3 p.m., the hours of Christ's most intense suffering and then death on the cross.

Almost inevitably, it rained close to 3 p.m., just like it did on the day our Savior died.

That always seemed uncanny to me.

 May your day be blessed.

Being raised Catholic, it was always a sad day in our house too.

Today will be church service at noon and silence after that. I love Holy Week with all it's reflections and traditions!

You know I was telling Andy today that the weather usually got dark and rainy about that time - but today it didn't - it was sunny. Thank you Jesus.
