Small Birdie Houses Get a Makeover

Two sweet little friends gifted me with handpainted birdhouses for Mother's Day.

Unfortunately, the paint jobs were rather garish and not at all my style.

So throwing caution to the wind,  the little houses got repainted.

Hope my dear sweet friends don't notice.

The petite houses joined my big birdie houses on a bench in the back yard.

Now I'm wondering if I should paint the big ones!

DO YOU EVER REMODEL GIFTS YOU HAVE RECEIVED?

Hello from Spain: I really like these houses ... Very nice. I do not change the design of the gifts because I can not do crafts. We keep in touch

If I were going to display them, I would remodel a bit, and have no problem with it. Thoughtful little gift givers. Have a great day.

Those were thoughtful gifts from young ones - but yes you have to adapt them to fit into your decor - I would think they would be happy to know you used them. Yes I have done that before - Cute.

I do not like the smell of paint so never paint...but your birdhouses look great. I hope that you get some birds to go into them.

There have been times when I have "recycled" gifts, but I can't remember ever remodeling them.
