Soothing Words...

(Photo taken inside St. Mark's Church in Western Mass, which is not connected
                                 with Jazz Vespers.)

"Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to
what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the
faint-hearted, support the weak, help the suffering.
Honor everyone. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power
of the Spirit.  And may the blessing of Almighty God, Father
and Son, and Holy Spirit be with you now and remain with
       you always. Amen."

The pastor of the Zion Lutheran Church in Western Massachusetts said that prayer weekly to attendees of  Jazz Vespers Services for many months.

The final service of the season took place recently.

Jazz has never been a favorite style of music for me but the Vespers Services at Zion Lutheran uplifted and inspired.

They also brought quietness and a touch of spirituality in the busyness of every week.

That prayer, recited weekly by the pastor, never failed to bring peace to my heart as well as tears to my eyes.

To him and to all the talented and faithful musicians, heartfelt thanks are in order.

May they each go in peace for bringing so much to others.

Hello from Spain: the sense of peace that brings me to go to church and pray silently. That feeling of talking on equal terms with God.We keep in touch

That is an inspiring prayer, and like you I appreciate the singers and musicians in our church, they lift our spirits.

That prayer sums out what would make this world a better place if we all practiced it.

I love jazz and have been to the vespers at that church too. Enjoyed the musicianship of all there. I love the stained glass picture. Our church just put in stained glass all over but in geometric shapes. I'd much rather have figures like the above picture. Prayer of any kind brings me peace. Have a wonderful Sunday!

I do like certain types of jazz. A very good prayer for all of us each and every day. I certainly try to hold on to what is good. Best wishes, Tammy

I got a great sense of peace when I read the bible verses up above -
"Go out into the world in peace. Have courage; hold on to
what is good. Return no one evil for evil. Strengthen the
faint-hearted, support the weak, help the suffering.
Honor everyone. Love and serve God, rejoicing in the power
of the Spirit. And may the blessing of Almighty God, Father
and Son, and Holy Spirit be with you now and remain with
you always. Amen."

Petting my granddog. I love it when she snuggles up to me , giving lots of love, never asking for anything in return(except maybe a little piece of my hamburg or steak!)

What a special prayer, Susan. I've always liked jazz music; it is uplifting to me.

What brings me peace is nature, church, and prayer. Thank you for asking, my friend. :~)

love, ~Sheri
