Take Time for You

This is a very busy time for many of us.

There are pre-Thanksgiving and pre-Christmas preparations (not to mention work to earn the money needed for both) plus so many things that need doing, buying, and organizing that it makes our heads spin.

Like the little angel in the photo blowing his horn, everything seems to want to garner our attention.

Now, more than ever, it's time to slowwwwwww down.

Breathe deeply.

Relax.

Whatever has to get done will get done and if it doesn't, well, it just doesn't.

No big deal.

Hope your Saturday is good.

HOW DO YOU MAKE YOURSELF STOP THE FRENZY?

You know when I am really stressed I really do - do deep breathing exercises - it is the only thing that calms me down - it works.

Yeah! A lot of this is stuff we put on ourselves.

I'm all finished with shopping , wrapping and getting presents. Now I just have to clean and put up a tree. I'm not in a frenzy at all. I do things leisurely now that I'm retired.

I just keep a list of things I need to get done and that rests my mind a lot. It keeps me from getting overwhelmed. Plus, I love to watch football on TV and I do a lot of screaming...LOL Kit

Even tho I am retired, I still find myself running out of time! There are so many things that have to be done and so many things I want to do. I try to prioritize so that all of the most important things get done. The rest, well, they may or may not get done. When I was younger, that would drive me crazy. Now that I am older I find that I'm ok with it.

I love your sweet little angel, Susan. Well, how do I stop the frenzy? I try to do my Christmas shopping early and wrapping presents and sending out cards so I can enjoy the season and focus on the real meaning of Christmas. It seems to make a difference for me every year. Thank you for reminding us to slow down and enjoy.

love, ~Sheri

Good advice, Susan! I tend to wear myself out trying to do everything. In recent years I've discovered that the sky won't fall if I don't bake 1,200 cookies. :)
