Advent Candle Tradition

One of the Christmas traditions in our house is to have an advent candle.

It sits right in the middle of the kitchen table.

It has four candles, one for each of the four weeks of advent.

Three are purple and one is pink.

Each night before we have dinner, my husband and I light the candles.

We pray for all those we love and thank the Baby Jesus for coming to this earth.

It's a nice tradition that reflects the true meaning of the Christmas season.

This year the little trio of angels sits in the middle of the candle ring. So sweet!

DO YOU HAVE A HOLIDAY TRADITION THAT YOU WOULD NEVER GIVE UP?

I never grew with an Advent candle but I think it is a lovely tradition that keeps the real reason of celebration in front of us.

It is nice having the hubs with you to do this and support you! Let's see - well if you gave up on Jesus - there wouldn't be a Christmas - so that is what I would not give up........

The Advent wreath is lit each Sunday at church. We share a special nightly Advent devotion here at the house.

What a lovely tradition my friend.
Our tradition is to add a small picture frame to hang in our memory tree, with members of our immediate family and now I'm looking for a little frame to add our new bundle of joy, little Maxima.
Thank you so much for the sweet comment too.
Have a great week.

Our church lights the advent candle at Mass each Sunday. I don't really have a holiday tradition as I live far away from family but when they are here we sing carols around the piano which is lovely.
