Outdoor Manger Scene in a "Cave"

That night, so long ago, was still and cold but clear.

Stars sparkled like diamonds in the pitch black sky.

One star shone down like a beacon in the night.

It illuminated the desert where kings rode camels.

They looked for a newborn baby, said to be the Son of God.

Then, they found the newborn baby in a manger.  The steamy breath from nearby animals felt warm upon the precious child.

This year, 2015, to commemorate that miraculous night of Christ's birth, hubs made a manger scene for the front yard.

He designed it to resemble a cave!

A spotlight strategically placed nearby illuminates the whole humble scene.

It is a perfect reminder of the real reason for Christmas.

DO YOU HAVE A MANGER SCENE DISPLAYED ANYWHERE AT YOUR HOUSE?

Oh Susan, what a beautiful scene to treasure and remind everyone of the true meaning of the holidays.

Love this. That nativity looks very similar to the one we had when I was a kid, though not in a cave. I like that, though. Puts an earthy sense to it all.

We didn't put ours out this year, but instead filled the mantle with bagpiping Santas. So I just have the one in my heart :) which is there all year long.

I have four manger scenes but they are all indoors. I just put three up this year. I'm trying to cut down on stuff. I've never had one outside as I do not have a husband to put one up for me..ha ha ha. Lovely Susan.

Hi Susan, I am visiting from Stephanie's blog. I'm your newest follower. :-)

Your manger scene is lovely. We don't have one yet anyway. We just moved into our home a few months ago.

Have a lovely evening.
