Life is Precious and Fleeting

The faster the years go by, the more I have come to realize how precious each day of life really is.

We never know when our time here on earth will be up.

We have a tendency to think we have all the time in the world but we don't.

When we are young, we think we are invincible.

The older we get, however, the more we come to realize that every minute of life counts.

In 2015, I lost two very dear friends and to this moment, they are terribly missed.

Another dear friend who has been my penpal for more than 15 years suddenly lost her husband a few months ago.

Tragically, a couple of days ago, she lost her son.

My heart goes out to her. I cannot even fathom the pain she is feeling.

So today, once again, I shout out that life is precious and very, very fleeting.

Live it to the fullest and appreciate each breath.

WHAT CAN YOU DO TO APPRECIATE LIFE EVEN MORE THAN YOU ALREADY DO?

Beautiful flowers and your writing in your blog is touching. As we get older your right. So we should appreciate lives moments.

Susan I just started to knit. I have some pictures up.

I know we have knitters I had commented a few but I am a blank as who they are as far as the blog title.

Do you have any friend on line who has a blog one who knits hat, scarves?

If so can you go to my blog where I have comment in my first knit thing and today's blog my continuation of my almost knitted dish cloth. Ha-ha. And put that persons blog down so I can have a look again at theirs. If you have anyone who knows who knits and has a blog up. I sure appreciate it.

We all knew sorrow would come, that it would appear in our later lives, but no one prepared us for how many times it happens now. Sorry for you and your friend....

Enjoy each day and thank the Lord for it.
I think of the song "Turn , Turn, Turn" and I'm hoping that time will ease the sorrow you feel for friends who have entered the other realm.

I am sorry for your friend and your loses this year. It is funny when you are young you never think about death, when you get older you can't help but think about it as it is our friends and loved ones.

I think being grateful for each and everything makes a big difference.

I am so sorry for the losses you have had to endure this past year and for the loss of your friend's son. Time helps a little, but I don't think the sad feeling of loss ever goes away.

Life is very fleeting and the older you get the more you realize that. Our time here is only temporary. I guess the sooner we accept that the better off we are. It helps us to enjoy and cherish each moment. It is hard not to feel sad, but there is no way to avoid the sadness that enters every life.

Your flower photos are exquisite....

Blessings of comfort for your friend. That's tough to lose two loved ones unexpectedly. A friend here over the course of a couple of weeks lost two aunts and a cousin. January sure has been a month of loss for so many people. May they all rest in peace.

You're so right, Susan! We, too, have had several deaths in our circle of friends - some old folk and "ready" for die...but we're never quite ready to release them and when the time comes, we have SUCH mixed emotions.

Every day is a gift, for sure. I always say we should live like it's our last day on earth, because one day it will be.

I'm sorry for your losses, and the losses your friend is going through.

I'm so sorry for your recent losses. I certainly intended to grow old with my husband but he died unexpectedly in the fall of 2014, just two months after my brother in law. Then two months later my other brother in law died. All three were in their late 60's All had expected many more years. They had relatively long lives but they were all young and active. So many younger have gone ahead. Each day is a blessing and must be lived fully.
