Through the Eyes of a Child

Wouldn't it be wonderful if adults could view the world through the eyes of children?

Life would be so much sweeter.

Children are so spontaneous and innocent.

They see the best in things without even looking for it.

Little things excite them as much as earth-shattering ones.

For instance, a precious little three-year-old came to visit the other day.

Upon entering the kitchen, she stopped in her tracks and drew a huge breath.

"You have hearts on your door!" she exclaimed in a voice filled with utter joy.

Her eyes became wide with wonder.

"Yes, I do,"  I told her. "Valentine's Day is in February so I'm decorating with hearts."

Her excitement over seeing the hearts made me smile.

I wish every adult alive could see the world as a child does.

ARE YOU ABLE TO SEE THINGS THROUGH THE EYES OF A CHILD?

Oh your last heart it is beautiful Susan. Did you make it? I like the others as well.
I like frills, lace and ribbons. So this one you have strikes me as fantastic!

Out of Babes mouths. How sweet her question was for being 3 years old. How she was in Joy!

Valentines is a pretty time. Decorative time.

I will be right over to have tea with you . Your windows and your door are Joyful! Like you.

Oh my .so many pretty hearts. Yes I do see things through a child's eyes whenever my grandsons are around. I love revisiting the past through them. Grandchildren are the best!

I do think I see things as through the eyes of a child. I attribute that to my mother as she had a childlike quality about her always. She was always curious and interested and found much joy in raising her 6 children.

I know exactly what you mean - it was so nice when Andy was smaller and we just looked through his eyes like that. It is kind of sad he lost the innocence of life - but he has - so do we teach them that or does life? Too bad we have to grow up!

When do we lose that childlike wonder? How that little one must enjoy how you call attention to the special times in each season!

Susan,
That must have gladdened your heart to have the three year old get so excited about your Valentine decorations. One of my favorite poems talks about seeing things through children's eyes. I should share it with you sometime. :)

I know this; is one of my greatest gifts...to see the sparkle in my great grandson's eyes when he comes over and notices something.

Hi Susan!

Well, I had to learn to see ... after my A was born. Very simple things make him immensely happy and little things disappoint him too, So one has to understand what a child feels. :)

Love you Valentine hearts! Keep on decorating.

Blogging sure has made me view the world differently. I'm always aware of what's going on around me and always seeing things that I probably would not have noticed in the past.
