Dinner with a Friend

Having a lunch with a dear friend brings sweetness to life.

My long-time friend, Christina, has been featured on this blog before.

She's an artist, a top-notch interior decorator and guess what else?  A fabulous cook!

We were going to go out to a restaurant to eat but she had eaten out the previous day and suggested she cook us a meal.

That was A-ok with me. Anything is fine if it gets me out of cooking for a night.

Christina is a passionate Collie lover so little ceramic Collies were at each of our placesettings!

Her two "living" Collies, Levi and Maddie, were there, too.

Levi loves to put his paws up on a guest's lap and then  give kisses!  So darned cute.

The hostess had Collie-shaped toasted tortilla snacks with goat cheese and a chex mix, all spread out on a big wooden tray.

She made delicious roast chicken, creamy mashed potatoes, sliced carrots with squash, gravy, and cranberry juice with seltzer to drink.

For dessert, she served dishes of salted caramel frozen yogurt with a twisty kind of cookie in it. Yum!

Everything was totally delicious.

Of course, her table setting and entire house looked adorable, as always.

Best of all, of course, was seeing Christina.

WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU HAD LUNCH WITH A DEAR FRIEND?

I usually go out to eat for lunch with friends. Sometimes we are celebrating a birthday and sometimes is "just because" we want to get together. This coming Friday I'm meeting several of my friends at Nordstom's cafe at the Mall. Everything is delicious on their menu and we've met there for years....I'm looking forward to it. Oh gosh I made roast chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy, cranberry sauce etc. just this past weekend at my house. It was so so good. Made soup out of the carcass too. Yum

What a fun time and fine meal you must have had. I love to eat out, anywhere, but sharing a meal with a friend is always a delight.

Love the snack ideas! I totally thought that was bacon in the ice cream, though. :-)

Love the red plate design!
