Countryside Beauty

Living in a kind of valley, hours away from big cities, can get a little unnerving at times.

There are almost no stores around here to buy good quality make-up or a variety of clothing.

Tourists travel to this area from all over the world in the summer.

They come to hear exquisite music at  the summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra.

Cultural events proliferate in the summer.

The area is truly beautiful in each season.

Air is fresh and clean almost all the time.

There are gorgeous lakes, miles of rolling green grass, farmers' markets, flowers in the warmer months, and  many open-minded residents.

Driving through the countryside is always delightful and the scenery is bucolic.

DO YOU PREFER CITY LIVING OR COUNTRYSIDE?

Always the country! The cities are too crowded, dirty and noisy. Give me flowers, green and birdsong every time. :) Kit

I like living in the suburbs of a city..I do not like the traffic so stay nearby my home whenever possible. I have access to many many stores within about five minutes of me. The scenes of the countryside where you live are very pretty. You'd have to drive quite a ways from where I live to see such a thing.

I lived in the countryside growing up on a farm. Loved it. Loved being close to nature, the fresh air, and wide open spaces for cows and wildlife.

I now live in a small city and I like it too. I like being close to the shops when I need something. I like being closer to good quality makeup even if I'm not a big makeup girl. And, I must admit, after all these years living near neighbours and having street lights, I'm not so keen on being completely isolated and in the dark on a moonless night way out where I can hear the coyotes yowling.

When I need some countryside, I go out into it and revel in it. And then I come home to my city where we have pockets of green and it's busy and noisy. My own house is in a quiet area. I have trees and flowers in my backyard, which draws the birds, bees and a few butterflies.

Thanks for asking, Susan!

Wishing you a happy weekend.

I love to visit the countryside, but prefer suburban living on our main road because I am nosy. The beach is what calls to me.

I was on my cell phone on Bloglovin and wrote a comment - I don't see it. I love the city - enjoy the scenery of the country. Happy Mother's Day!

I don't mind where I live but as I get older I like the city as it is easier to get things and hospitals are close by.

Susan, I didn't know you lived in the countryside. I live in a charming town with rolling hills. There are lots of great shops nearby and pretty close to everything, which I like. But I often take a drive to the countryside, which is the next town over. I spend the morning there, and enjoy all the scenic beauty. When we take a drive in the countryside, we will often see surprises along the way. : )

Your pictures are so pretty. Thanks for sharing.
