A Day to Remember

Hello Sweet Blog Peeps:

Remember how I told you how we have house guests?

Well, today was a day to  remember.

We took my husband's darling niece and her sweet friend to the University of Massachusetts in Amherst.

The girls are very independent and just wanted to be left off, promising to take an Uber home.

Now Ubers are fairly new to us but the guests seemed to be unflustered and assured us they'd be okay.

 So we bid them goodbye.

Guess what?  Hubs and I then went on a date!

Yep, we shopped at Trader Joe's and had lunch at a very favorite restaurant, Sylvester's, in the town of Amherst.

Oh, it was a delight.  I had a salad with a grilled croissant that contained goat cheese, caramelized onions, and mushrooms. Lush.

There were lovely hanging plants and lots of windows, emitting tons of light.

The plant over my head even had a red bird nestled inside.

The vase of colorful living flowers, shown at the top of this post,  sat on the widow sill near our table.

Even the outside window box was sweet to look at.

It was just one of those extra special days of life for which I am deeply grateful.

WHAT IS A SPECIAL DAY TO YOU?

How lovely for you!
Lately, "ordinary" days are special for me. Time to read a book, walk a trail, and evening drives into the countryside to watch the industrious Amish folk and their horses at work in the fields....
Simple things like that soothe and satisfy me. ♥

What a delightful way to spend time together. Your sandwich sounds delicious. Amherst is a pretty place.

Such a nice special day for you. I was at my grandson's fifth grade graduation. That was my special day. He looked so grown up. I can still see me holding him as a newborn....
