No More Dollies?

I will not buy any more dolls.

I will not buy any more dolls.

I will not buy any more dolls.

But I just did.

You know how collections go. You add to them throughout the
years but there comes a point when you have to stop.

That's about the point I had reached with the doll collection.

However......ah hem.....a few weeks ago, two little beauties caught my eye in a Goodwill thrift store. They didn't come home with me on that trip.

However, during a stop in the same store most recently, I looked to see if the babes were still there and they were.

That was my signal that it was meant to be for them to get a new home.

The  pink darling stood inside a glass cabinet and appeared very clean and neat.

Turquoise beauty needed her clothes to be completely washed. She got a good scrubbing, too, and a hair wash.

Okay, so I'm getting older. Many people have told me we should be downsizing, not accumulating more.

Who cares?  I love the new dollies and haven't got a single regret over buying them.

Maybe some day I will pass them on to a little girl who will love them as much as I do, but not yet.

DO YOU HAVE COLLECTIONS YOU CONTINUE TO ADD TO?

I only collect refrigerator magnets. I have tons of them but I still get one whenever I'm in a new place I've never been before.

You might have a couple little ones to share with one day.

So Susan after that big move about 3 years ago - that didn't happen - I really broke my house up. Got rid of so many things - to different people - and things.

I would say now my biggest collection is aqua pieces all over the house. I don't have one room - and I have a lot of rooms - that don't have a couple of pieces of aqua something in it.

It's hard to pass on these sweet faces, isn't it? The dolls appear to be in great shape. And with a good cleaning, even better. aaahhh, that one with the BIG BLUE EYES!

I do have a collection of miniature things, and it seems to be growing hehehe.

I'm making myself downsize things, but it is hard to give up our collections. I think if you love something and you have room for it in your life then you should have no regrets. xo Laura

Every time I see a cute one, I think of you. Love the turquoise one. I wish I could visit your home. Imagine it is a smile a minute.
