Celebration of America's 242nd Birthday

The Fourth of July parade we attended this year had many wonderful offerings but the marching bands were the best.

How thrilling it was to hear the blasts of trumps, trombones, French horns and tubas, listen to the beating of the drums, and see the impeccably dressed musicians marching in precision down the main street of a quintessential New England town!

This is a very picture heavy post so no more writing.  Enjoy these photos from America's 242nd birthday celebration in a Western Massachusetts town:

DO YOU ENJOY LISTENING TO MARCHING BANDS?

I do like to listen to marching bands. I used to more when the kids were little - can't think of the last time I have done that.

Nice photos Susan. That's the best part of a parade...the music.

I just loved this post, Susan. Missed our parade, which didn't compare to yours.

What a festive celebration! I had a quiet, but nice Fourth of July. And for dinner we had hot dogs and barbecue chips and the all-American foods. : )
